Usability

Pros:

  • "It’s easy to use and a lot of fun."
  • "It’s relaxing and easy to do."
  • "The adhesive on the back of the stickers is really good too. It really sticks!"
  • "The stickers are cute and easy to peel. And it’s easy to place the gems on it."
  • "Easy to use and follow for young kids who want to diamond paint like the grownups."
  • "The gems are very small, you pick them up using a stylus that you put in wax which grabs them but isn't overly sticky so they release easily when you place them on the sticky dots."
  • "They were very easy to put together as there are little labels of which and where to place the gems."

Cons:

  • "This was very difficult to get the gems onto the sticky surface."
  • "The gems come in little packets which once open get scattered about."
  • "The plastic suncatchers can move around when little ones are trying to make them which ruins the guide."
  • "It would be nice if the stickers were a bit larger picking up the wax can be challenging the directions are not clear as to how much wax needs to be loaded in the pen to make the diamonds pick up l had to load it for my grand daughter."
  • "The wand didn't work well with the wax."
  • "It got tiring having to apply it every 4th or 5th gem."
  • "The only things that I wouldn’t recommend about the kits are the flimsy plastic drill tray and the stuff that they call 'sticky putty'."

Design & Creativity

Pros:

  • "The sun catchers are a little more creative, if you don't follow the suggested colors closely, which you don't have to."
  • "It's a cool set and a lot of fun for boys and girls."
  • "This kit came with a colorful variety of kid friendly Christmas scenes to bling out with multiple gemstones."
  • "There is no color guide for the sun catchers, so it allows for so much creativity!"
  • "You can follow the colors on the stickers for placing the gems or design them your own way!"
  • "The shapes are fun and the gems are shiny and bright."
  • "The designs are attractive and fun."

Cons:

  • "However, this isn't exactly the most creative craft, at least the stickers part."
  • "The task does not involve a great deal of creativity--it might have been nice if a few extra supplies had been provided for some design-your-own projects."
  • "The larger suncatchers did not have a guide and she had a hard time focusing long enough."
  • "The stickers are easier to make than the sun catchers, which are bigger and have no placement guides for the jewels on them."
  • "Was very disappointed to discover this was the tiny gems. My daughter wanted the big ones."
  • "The sticker selection skews heavily toward traditional 'girly' things, lots of pink, purple, light blue unicorns, rainbows, pandas, etc. which sadly I'm sure turns off a lot of older boys."
  • "This is a one time DYI kit."

Quality & Value

Pros:

  • "This is one of the craft projects that’s actually worth 15 bucks."
  • "This set is great. Everything worked perfectly."
  • "The set comes with stickers and 2 suncatchers. A tray is also included for the gems but it was so much easier separating each color gems into their on bowls."
  • "Materials quality and instructions are pretty good considering the very modest cost of the kit."
  • "It includes everything you need---sparkly 'diamond' gems, adhesive stickers to put gems on, some sun catchers to decorate, a stylus and some wax to pick up the gems, a tray---very complete."
  • "Good quality, vibrant colors, and strong sticker backs."
  • "Great quality."

Cons:

  • "These are a good idea I suppose but not worth the price."
  • "Very cheap, and it was too expensive for the quality we received."
  • "This product came missing gems (gem packs were empty), and must have been used."
  • "I was going to give it 5 stars but I didn’t because it doesn’t have enough gems for all the stickers."
  • "I think they sent a returned/used kit. It's missing a bunch of gems."
  • "Daughter really enjoyed the project but the gems don’t stick for long. As soon as you start peeling sticker off they pop off. Disappointing."
  • "this was supposed to have 2 sheets of stickers with 6 different designs each plus 2 sun catchers. instead it had 11 sheets of the same 6 designs and zero suncatchers."

Age Appropriateness
