Ease of Use

Pros:

  • "This tool makes it effortless to get your trays out!"
  • "They are perfect and the trays come out very easily now."
  • "It's quick, simple, and stress-free."
  • "Super easy to use, and well worth the money."
  • "It’s super easy to use."
  • "This tool is perfect for hooking on to the edges and getting just enough grab to pull the aligners off."
  • "It is easy to use and works like a breeze."

Cons:

  • "I didn’t find using this tool any easier than just removing the aligners by hand."
  • "It’s hard to hook onto an exposed edge, and I ended up just repeatedly scraping my gums."
  • "The only thing is sometimes it can irritate the gums trying to get it under the aligners."
  • "But the tool did slip twice and cut the side of my mouth pretty badly, so be careful there."
  • "It was too painful to insert next to teeth, and so hard that I worried it would break or damage my Invisalign trays."
  • "Sometimes my aligners are so tight it hurts to take them off but I would still rather use my fingers to work them out than sticking the awkward tool into my mouth and blindly configuring it in my mouth."
  • "The angle of the hook makes it impossible to get under the edge. a right edge shape would work better."

Design and Quality

Pros:

  • "The Pultool finger loop is positioned properly to the removal end so that you are able to actually remove your aligner trays!"
  • "It fits in the Invisalign carry case too if you kind of Tetris it in there with the trays."
  • "Fits great in the Invisalign case (as long as you have the tool without the added chewie portion)."
  • "It fits perfectly in the Invisalign case even with the aligners in so easy peasy to take with you on the go!!"
  • "The tool is strong and sturdy."
  • "The tool itself is very sturdy so you don't have to worry about it breaking off."
  • "They are very sturdy and will hold up for a very long time."

Cons:

  • "I'd suggest, though, that the company reduce the length by a couple millimeters, as it doesn't quite fit nicely inside any of the styles of retainer case my orthodontist gives her patients."
  • "Since cheap plastic was used to maximize profit (all Invisalign accessories are outrageoously overpriced), in the end what you have is a large fishhook that you have to work in at the right angle to pry off the braces, and the hook has a sharp point that can easily jab gums etc. if you're not careful."
  • "I am slightly concerned that frequent pulling in the same spot on the trays with the hook may cause it to bow out slightly along an edge."
  • "Also, after using the tool 3 or 4 times a day in the same spots, it pulled out the side of my aligners and it stuck out towards my tongue on the bottom and got very sharp and annoying."
  • "Straight out of the box, the hook is practically a tiny ninja blade. Seriously sharp! Be careful or your gums might bleed quite badly."
  • "This tool is much too rigid and sharp to use."
  • "The only downfall is they are about 1/16 of an inch too long to fit in any of the (3) retainer cases that I have."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "Definitely a must have."
  • "Definitely would recommend."
  • "Saved my nails from breaking, since the trays can be hard to detach."
  • "I recommend it to everyone with trays & attachments!"
  • "I highly recommend this tool!"
  • "This is a MUST HAVE!!! I love it!!! No more struggles and broken nails."
  • "I cannot recommend it highly enough!"

Cons:

  • "This was a 10 dollar plastic crochet hook that did not fit in between the tooth and the invisaligner."
  • "As others have written it is a little overpriced for a piece of molded plastic."
  • "Expensive for what you get. I mean it is only a small piece of plastic, though most of cost may be for shipping."
  • "However, the price is a little bit too high. It would be better to lower the price a little bit more."
  • "Not worth paying $21.99 for one of these!"
  • "I don't think I would purchase this item again, however, because the less expensive alternatives satisfy my needs with minimal downsides."
  • "Literally go buy a 69 cent metal crochet hook."

Packaging and Presentation

Pros:

  • "And it comes with it's own resealable bag, so it's easy to take with you."
  • "Comes with a small case that is easy to carry, whether in your pockets, purse, or backpack."
  • "They also fit nicely in your Invisalign case."
  • "I love that it fits perfectly in the case (as shown in pic)."
  • "It’s super easy to use and fits right in the aligner case."
  • "Great for travel or just regular on the go."
  • "Simplifies the removal in a sanitary way and small enough to store away to carry with you when needed."

Cons:

  • "But sticking a piece of plastic in my mouth that doesn't get cleaned regularly was more disgusting."
  • "It did not come in the Pul packaging as described!"
  • "This picture is how my product arrived. It did not come in the Pul packaging as described!"
  • "Keeping these things clean, and easily at hand is soooo much more trouble than it’s worth."
  • "The dentist told me to order this. It didn’t work at all for me."
  • "I'm giving this tool four stars rather than five due to lack of value."
  • "The product does work as intended but I would be cautious when removing the aligners."
