  • "Directions aren’t easy to follow so I took it down."
  • "Tech support had me go through trying to add it back on my network 3 times with the same results."
  • "Setup was horrible. Kept on getting frozen on same step."
  • "The pairing process was glitchy, and tech support told me I needed to reboot my router because 'you get buildup in your internet'."
  • "This chime wouldn’t connect. My husband spent 2.5 hours on the phone with tech support and we still couldn’t get it to work."

Volume and Sound Quality

Pros:

  • "The tones are loud and clear."
  • "Doubles as a nightlight too."
  • "The chime is in my bedroom, and it is loud. I haven’t found a volume control on the app."
  • "Pretty convenient. I don’t always have my phone on me for the notifications and was missing doorbells. Gets loud enough to hear throughout the house."
  • "I can hear a very loud Ring alert when someone presses the button."
  • "There are 2 dozen or so chime sounds to choose from, it is sufficiently loud to be heard on at least 2 floors if not 3."
  • "The loud chiming is easy to hear anywhere in the house (900sqft with basement)."

Cons:

WiFi Connectivity and Extending

Pros:

  • "It's like a box to amplify the wifi."
  • "It extended my wifi range, which is what I needed it for."
  • "Works great we love it our flood camera gets a way better signal."
  • "The Ring Chimes are also WI-FI signal boosters."
  • "It does his job I don’t have no issues with my ring camera, the signal runs perfectly downstairs and my camera doesn’t turn off anymore."
  • "We have yet to lose connection since it’s been plugged in."
  • "Very good product, both of my ring door cameras had weak WiFi signals, when connecting to the chime, the weak signal was now a stronger signal."

Cons:

  • "Must have really fast internet for these suckers to work."
  • "No other product we own has signal issues in the other 4 locations I tried."
  • "I think this is a good product but It constantly disconnects."
  • "Bought the pro model to act as an extender. This ended up making the wifi connection worse for the outside cameras it was supposed to boost."
  • "Both would constantly drop connection, rarely picking up when someone was at my door."
  • "The wifi router is at least 5-60 feet from the front door, and it would connect, but then disconnect randomly."
  • "This Chime pro creates its own WiFi hot spot which your ring video doorbell will connect to... this actually caused a weaker connection for my Ring camera."
