Gameplay Experience

Pros:

  • "But it’s also fun to play with them and not be bored out of your mind with repetition like so many other children’s games."
  • "The kids begged to play so much that we got through all the cards in 3 days... Which then makes the game less fun because you are repeating."
  • "This is a fun icebreaker game for kids, or indoor recess game or intro to adjectives games..."
  • "They can actually make it to the end without losing interest."
  • "Our family loves these guess in 10 games."
  • "Absolutely love this game! We play in teams which the kids love."
  • "Fun, easy, educational game for all ages!"

Cons:

  • "I would not use this game for educational purposes."
  • "It's not as though it was cramped for space, there was plenty available--someone CHOSE to use this tiny font size for the additional info about the animals."
  • "The print is small."
  • "Most of the animals we already knew and I felt like they were too easy to guess."
  • "The problem is that the game is designed to only give the first two buzzwords, which, as I mentioned, are super-generic, and the third -more obvious one- only when you’ve won the previous round’s bonus question."
  • "Some of the “facts” in this game are wrong."
  • "Reading clues is too difficult."

Educational Value

Pros:

  • "It helps them practice how to use descriptive words."
  • "Great selection of informational cards which teaches as we play it each time."
  • "It was fun and interesting and he is learning new animal facts"
  • "It has been a fun way to work on skills like learning feature, function and class information, learning to compare and contrast, and question-asking."
  • "It has been awesome to see them learn about different animals."
  • "Awesome gift for kids! Used this to provide an educational and fun experience for my younger cousin."
  • "This game is fun and educational!"

Cons:

  • "So, then, where is the educational value?"
  • "It also takes the creativity out of coming up with the facts but ensures that you are getting accurate clues, as opposed to what kids think is true or not true of certain animals."
  • "Besides glaring errors, like e.g. on Cow’s bonus question, ‘name 3 more animals or birds that …’ (birds _are_ animals), my main issue with this game is that it doesn’t *teach* anything of value through its buzzwords."
  • "The kids don't really understand giving a clue without completely giving away the answer and their guesses are pretty off the charts."
  • "World Geography version: too difficult for kids."
  • "Some of the clues were a little absurd, like an animal with long legs is a horse."
  • "The option for just 10 clues is very limiting and the clues are difficult for young children to find ways to apply them."

Design and Quality

Pros:

  • "The game is high quality and beautifully illustrated."
  • "The cards are durable, ensuring hours of play without wear and tear."
  • "The seller provided great customer service when I received the product in a different language."
  • "Having the picture cards to ask for clues rather than cards with words on them works perfectly for preschoolers."
  • "Nice size cards and they are sturdy."
  • "The cards are well designed and written and it turned out to be an educational experience for all ages."
  • "Because the cards are huge--there is plenty of space available that they could have put info and facts they provide about the animals with large enough print to be legible."

Cons:

  • "Guess I can pull out a magnifying glass--but we shouldn't have to do that."
  • "But they chose to make one portion of the information on the side too small to read."
  • "Why oh why, when someone is designing a space to primarily include words as the main content would they decide to use the smallest font available, so as to make parts of what is written on these cards unreadable?"
  • "They are too thin, easily folded in kid's hands."
  • "I was so disappointed when I opened the box to examine the cards for this game. Out of the 50 Inspiring Profession cards, only 2 had an image of a non-white person."
  • "Very disappointed with this “educational” game... Puerto Rico is not a country."
  • "Really? 'If there are 3 rabbits and you take away 2, how many rabbits do you have? (Answer: 2 rabbits)'. Way to confuse kids who are struggling with their numbers..."

Replayability

Pros:

  • "My kids love this game and ask to play it almost every day."
  • "Even after playing it for many times it is fun and very informative for the kids."
  • "We played it over and over and over."
  • "It’s not a game we play all the time but we played a lot at first and it does get repeated occasionally."
  • "My kids have so much playing this (ages 2, 4,6)! It gets them thinking and using sentences and words they typically might not say."
  • "My son LOVES this game! We play it multiple times a day and it helps him think of different ways to give me hints so I don’t guess them."
  • "We have fun and enjoy this game."
