Usability

Pros:

  • "Easy to use with flats and prefolds. Keeps them in place without worry. Perfect for squirmy babies."
  • "This works as expected -- easy to use to keep cloth prefolds/folds together."
  • "Flats/preflats have been a learning curve for me but I like this alternative compared to regular pins."
  • "Makes changing diapers so much faster!"
  • "These clips have made cloth diapering incredibly easy. Just as safely usable at 4:37 am while the baby’s fully awake and wiggling."
  • "We use flats, and these work great with them - bamboo and cotton."
  • "Works really well with certain folds for our flat diapers, origami in particular."

Cons:

  • "The snappi poked through my son’s prefold and into his skin. I will never be using these again!"
  • "The new ones are made of this stiff plastic-like stuff that almost doesn't stretch at all... The new ones are useless."
  • "I've had difficulty putting these on the cloth diapers for my son. they seemed to fall out of the material."
  • "But then one of the hooks fell off within a month of use and does not stay in place anymore."
  • "They don't grab on thicker diapers that are really burp cloths but marketed at cloth diapers--like the colorful ones."
  • "Does not work all that well on t-shirt material, especially if there is design print on it."
  • "Can't use these on thin diapers either because the claw part pokes through."

Durability

Pros:

  • "They seem strong and will last a long time."
  • "I have cloth diapered two babies with ONE set of 3 Snappis!"
  • "I have never had a Snappi break or scratch one of the babies."
  • "Our pink ones still look like new even after using them for 2+ years."
  • "We have used these continuously for 6 months... But they haven't! I wish I could give them 10 stars for durability."
  • "I've been using mine for almost 2 years now on my cloth diapered son. None of them have broken."
  • "We have been using them on our twins for 18 mo now and they have held up."

Cons:

  • "I had barely used these and 2 of the 3 broke on me."
  • "Update: 2 of the snappis have broken & are unusable."
  • "After 4 months of heavy use one of the Snappis finally broke."
  • "It broke after two months of use."
  • "The problem I have is that the rubber part, the colorful part that holds the tension, seems kind of flimsy so even though they do hold, I am afraid they will break apart."
  • "The teeth are also super sharp and have torn my diapers already, rendering them unusable."
  • "They rip gigantic holes in your diapers."

Safety and Comfort

Pros:

  • "Pretty sharp but they have a little feature to protect you."
  • "I feel as though they're much safer than pins."
  • "So easy to use! Way better than old fashion pins."
  • "Easy to use and there is no fear if sticking her baby with pins."
  • "Great product! Obviously need to use precaution and make sure not to prick the skin while putting on a wiggly baby."
  • "These ingenious clips work, they're extremely easy to use and you'll never worry about poking your baby with a pin."
  • "Super easy to use, can't imagine needing to use pins, these are safer and easier."

Cons:

  • "I am very hesitant to put something that breaks through my skin on my baby."
  • "The clip edges are ridiculously sharp and there was no way we were putting these on our baby."
  • "I'm always so afraid they are going to scratch my baby. The little 'grabbers' on them are sharp."
  • "They’re not super easy to use. You have to make sure that you clip in a way that the teeth don’t poke through the cloth and injure baby."
  • "The plastic teeth are crazy sharp. They don't stay secure with Gerber prefolds."
  • "The only reason I just gave it 4 stars is the teeth to hold the snappi in are really sharp, so you have to make sure there is a thick piece of fabric."
  • "Not very stretchy. Didn't stay in place very well. Seems bulky and uncomfortable. Will not be using."
