Chemical Smell

Pros:

  • "We decided to buy this Graco mattress off our Amazon registry once the completion discount kicked in and we are very happy with it."
  • "This mattress fits perfectly in our Fisher Price standard crib!"

Cons:

  • "When we opened the mattress there was a bad chemical smell that made me nauseous."
  • "Even though this mattress is supposed to be free of chemicals, there is no way."
  • "Let it air out OUTSIDE for over 24 hours… Even aired it out in a spare room for over a week and it still smells strong of chemicals."
  • "This mattress had great reviews and I really am unsure how. I opened the box it came in and was immediately hit with such a strong chemical odor."
  • "It has a really bad smell of toxins, I gave it to air out for 3 weeks already but it doesn't help."
  • "The mattress contains polyurethane which is toxic to breathe in and can cause asthma, allergies, and other breathing problems."
  • "I bought this mattress because I trusted the Graco brand and for all the certifications toxic-free. It's been 3 weeks the mattress was unpacked and it is airing for nothing, the strong smell is still here irritating my nose."

Safety and Firmness

Pros:

  • "This mattress is definitely firm, just like you want for a crib, but with a soft surface so it seems like it will be much more comfortable than the waterproof vinyl type."
  • "Let’s be real the most important things are these three right here: it truly is waterproof; it fits in a standard crib, perfectly, meaning nice and snug; it is nice and firm like it is supposed to be so that it is not a risk of suffocation for your child."

Cons:

  • "Highly disappointed! This mattress is WAY too soft for an infant which poses a suffocation risk."
  • "Disappointed that a large name brand like Graco would market this mattress as infant-appropriate. The foam material is much too soft for newborns and is a huge safety concern."
  • "This mattress is not firm to me. I have anxiety about safe sleep and when I press down on this mattress it doesn’t have much resistance."
  • "The mattress was not firm enough and the cover that it came with was too loose... we decided that this was not right for us so we ended up returning."

Comfort and Sleep Quality

Pros:

  • "I never write reviews but I had to write one for this product. We have struggled with my now 10-month-old's sleep since he was an infant. This child LOVES this new mattress."
  • "This is such a great mattress! I’m typically cheap but I knew I needed to spend a bit for comfort for my youngest. It’s perfect!"
  • "This mattress is exactly what I was hoping for. We were replacing my eldest son's ‘plastic’ covered mattress and I wanted something soft and comfortable but not too soft. This fits the bill 100%."
  • "My son sleeps comfortably, it's even. It fits our standard size crib perfect. I mean it's a mattress, so it's not anything super special but it gets the job done and we have no complaints."

Cons:

  • "Our little one has been sleeping in a pack and play with a memory foam mattress. We've tried transitioning her to this. But it's just way too firm."
  • "This bed is hard. Maybe I should've checked the density for the mattress before buying it."
  • "We have two of these mattresses and they fit well in both cribs with no gaps. I like it has its own mattress cover and is breathable. They do need a few days to fully form after being out of the vacuum sealed package."
  • "Overall this mattress was as described. Since the mattress is only 5” deep, when I put a standard crib sheet on it pulls the ends of the mattress up and the mattress won’t lay flat."
