Adhesion and Comfort

Pros:

  • "They are comfortable and stick very well to her skin."
  • "The adhesive kept the bandage on place and did not irritate my skin when I was ready to remove it."
  • "It stayed on until I changed it on the 3rd day."
  • "The adhesive works well, completely covers the area and protects it from getting wet and further irritated."
  • "These were the perfect size and the right amount of adhesion, stay on, but easily pull off when ready to clean wound and put a new one."
  • "These stick well even when they get wet."
  • "Nice adhesive that allows you to adjust placement but then stays put without folding or wrinkles."

Cons:

  • "This item may work for people that are bedridden, that don’t move or sweat much, for me it was an expensive and unsatisfying experience."
  • "These lift within 20 minutes of use and will not stick back."
  • "This bandage fell off in less than 30 minutes."
  • "Seems to peel right off if you get things even a little bit wet- that's the only real issue."
  • "The adhesive quality of this product is lacking. It lasts for an hour then starts to come off to where I have to tape it back on."
  • "The adhesive is so bad that the dressing would hang off within an hour."
  • "The bandage starts coming off in less than an hour. Buying different brand."

Quality and Effectiveness

Pros:

  • "I cannot use latex, these are silicone and the cushion for absorption or for protection is 100% BEST QUALITY."
  • "We would prefer to buy these out of pocket than to use items approved and supplied by insurance. Excellent absorption for medium to heavy exuding wounds."
  • "It doesn't stick to the wound, is showerproof, painfree to remove, and soft, it doesn't even leave creases in the skin when the correct size is used."
  • "I used them for a deep cut from a medical procedure and it does the job very well."
  • "This bandage is almost half the price of the one used by the hospital and looks, feels and performs just as well as the more expensive one."
  • "These do feel sticky but they have the right amount of moisture ensuring that my wound doesn't dry out."
  • "These are excellent bandages for severe wounds. Not cheap but worth every dollar."

Cons:

  • "The description is a lie...it is not a bordered silicon."
  • "The pad itself is as described, the silicone layer will do what it needs to, very similar to how my wound was dressed in hospital. However, it’s described as waterproof. It’s totally useless."
  • "I was disappointed since they were so pricey."
  • "The adhesive becomes very gooey once you apply them and your body temp warms them."
  • "Not happy with the purchase at all."
  • "The product does not stick to skin (even clean, dry), not waterproof as it came off in shower."
  • "Unfortunately, this Band-Aid is incredibly poorly made and does not work well at all. The actual adhesive does not hold or stick to the skin at all, and it is extremely thin."

Size and Packaging

Pros:

  • "Very large bandage pads for very large problem areas."
  • "Perfect size bandage for my grandfathers knee replacement!"
  • "The packaging is way easier to use than most with a broad area to grab around the bandaid itself so that you can get it out even with bike gloves on."
  • "These MedVance had just the right amount of cushion to give me relief when sitting or laying in bed."
  • "It was nice to find a bandage long enough to cover my arm after surgery. Very comfortable bandage."
  • "These are great bandages with thick padding and stick well but are easy to remove without pulling your skin off."
  • "This is a perfect patch for the bed sores on my brother's behind. It fits so nicely and keeps his sores from getting worse."

Cons:

  • "The only downside is that not many come in the box."
  • "Too huge for the bed sore we want to use it for - would like to exchange to a smaller size to be able to use it and review it in action."
  • "We paid over $5 per dressing (price has since dropped a lot) so these are extremely expensive for something that did not adhere."
  • "Expensive just five in a box so going on for £45 for ten."
  • "The actual pad is only 4X4 even though it is a 6X6 dressing."
  • "I wasn't aware that only five Band-Aids came in this box. If I had known that, I would not have paid what I paid for it."
  • "Product clearly states box of 5. Received ONE patch."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "These she found for me to use at the lowest price and easy to apply."
  • "Medvance offered the best price of any in it's class."
  • "We are able to buy Medvance pads for $3.80 a piece through Amazon, through our insurance (and medicare supplier) we would be paying $5.80 each as a copay."
  • "This is a box of 5 for just under $20. In comparison to what we've found, that's a pretty good deal for the money."
  • "These are also pretty affordable."
  • "The other bandages that my insurance covered for only 10 days are $42 each. This is EXACTLY the same product."
  • "Compared to others in this category they are near the best regarding price/performance."

Cons:

  • "Bought these for my knee replacement because they were close to what they had in the hospital. THEY ARE CHEAP! Don’t waste your time or money!!!"
  • "I don’t get it why this is such a bad quality and so expensive."
  • "They don’t stick very well it just comes off their junk I spent $15 and change and five of these talk about highway robbery do not buy this product thank you."
  • "Very expensive plasters, 5 for £21.99. A rip off as they don't even stay on."
  • "The product is great but I have bought this 3 times and the price has tripled from 11 dollars to 37 dollars in less than one month."
  • "Purchased to use as protection for an incision from knee replacement surgery. Good size but definitely not waterproof enough for the shower."
  • "These bandages are pricey, but worth the cost."
