Waterproof Quality

Pros:

  • "They are waterproof with a warm lining."
  • "Anyway, the pants are warm and waterproof as advertised."
  • "They were totally waterproof."
  • "Love them! Fantastic pants, much thinner then ski pants, totally water proof."
  • "Awesome pants, super durable, actually waterproof (not just 'water resistant')."
  • "These are truly water proof and keep my toddler dry."
  • "These are really waterproof."

Cons:

  • "They claim to be waterproof but they aren’t."
  • "Can't be put in the dryer so the inbetween probably gets moldy as I don't think it ever totally dries."
  • "These protect for the most part, however because they are so thin, they so allow some wetness into the inside of the pants and aren't great to have on if you are going to be in the rain or snow for hours."
  • "However saying they are waterproof is a lie! Just picked my kid up from forest camp and she is soaked!"
  • "Sadly, the material didn’t hold up for less than an hour of play."
  • "I really liked these pants in the first year. This is the second season my daughter is wearing them and almost everytime she came back with wet pants (from knee down to the end of inseam) - they are not waterproof anymore!?"

Fit and Size

Pros:

  • "So far these pants are everything I needed for my son. He’s in size 5t clothing and I bought the 5t pants which are perfect."
  • "Little big but fits fine and works great - keeps their legs warm and dry- stretchy bottoms fit well over boots to block out snow and rain."
  • "I just love the jan and jul brand! These are so cute! I ordered them for my 15 month old and got a size 2T they are a TINY bit on the larger size but I’d rather that than her ankles showing."
  • "These pants are really good but I would recommend to order a bigger size."
  • "I like that they have cuffed legs, because the length doesn’t have to be perfect."
  • "The drawstring waist and elastic at the ankle help give a little flexibility too, incase we have a size that might be a little big on a child."
  • "They do fit a bit larger which is great because there’s room to grow into them."

Cons:

  • "Our 3 year old wore these for less than 2 weeks and there is already a hole in them."
  • "Not worth 50 dollars that’s for sure."
  • "The pants fit very small and don’t have much give."
  • "The fit of the pants is very wrong. The legs are short and the crotch is long."
  • "They’re HUGE! My son wears a 4T-5T pant. Bought the 4T size to be safe but they’re just too big."
  • "Purchased for my slightly chubby 8 year old and they do not fit."
  • "Bought size 10yr for my 8 year old son way to small, leg length is fine but the width is very very small."

Design and Quality

Pros:

  • "This was a PERFECT purchase for our 4 Year Old to start her Skating Lessons."
  • "I just love the jan and jul brand! These are so cute!"
  • "So thankful to find warm rain pants that work for a puddle jumper and fit snuggly over boots! Plus, the patterns are just gorgeous!"
  • "We love these pants! Our kiddo has hip issues so bulky snow pants are super challenging."
  • "It's really good quality."
  • "These are perfect for in between fall and winter and offer great protection and some warmth!"
  • "The outer waterproof layer is durable and thick so he can kneel and play in the dirt."

Cons:

  • "It was very challenging to get them on my daughter's legs when she was only wearing thin pants."
  • "The addition of a zipper at the ankle or a slightly looser elastic would be an improvement to these pants as they are so hard (for even me) to put on and off over boots."
  • "Can't be put in the dryer so the inbetween probably gets moldy as I don't think it ever totally dries."
  • "The only down sides are:1. They're really baggy. This is probably necessary because there's no stretch. Forgivable.2. Elastic bottoms are annoying."
  • "Thick, high quality and warm but the fleece lining makes it impossible for my 5 year old to put these on independently."
  • "These pants seem fine and the quality is good, however I was sent a USED pair with another child’s name written on the tag!"
  • "The biggest issue we had is that the fleece lining is only attached and top and bottom, so it pulled out putting on and, esp, taking off."
