Shrinkage and Sealing

Pros:

  • "The shrink and sealing characteristics of this tubing is excellent."
  • "It shrank easily to about 1/3 of original size."
  • "Great heat shrink to insure waterproof."
  • "It looked like it made a waterproof bond, but to my surprise it was able to do so at a low enough temperature that the insulation of the neighboring wires was not compromised."
  • "Works perfectly. You can see the adhesive after the tube shrinks down."
  • "The shrinkage was good and it looks like it will hold up well against the elements."
  • "It seals very quickly and evenly."

Cons:

  • "once shrunk, these are not very flexible. 2:1 heat shrink is less stiff once."
  • "It shrank good initially but within a day started to expand and become lose."
  • "1 piece maybe ok, the next piece barely shrinks."
  • "These took forever to shrink using a heat gun and by the time they were shrunken it had burn marks from all the heat it needed."
  • "Had a difficult time getting this product to shrink."
  • "Measures a little large in diameter and doesn't shrink evenly... stays creased at the roll fold and wouldn't suck all the way down."
  • "This stuff DOES NOT shrink! Maybe I received a bad roll but this is the worst heat shrink I've ever used."

Quality and Durability

Pros:

  • "This heat shrink tubing is incredibly thick... Works great."
  • "This tubing is also very thick. I've used many other brands in the past and this one seems to be the most heavy duty that I've come across."
  • "The walls are very thick and sturdy - considerably thicker than other heat-shrink tubing I've tried."
  • "This is the most substantial, thick heat shrink I've ever used."
  • "This is some of the best heat shrink tube I have ever used."
  • "The heat shrink is very thick, and quite stiff once shrunk."
  • "Nice thick tubing."

Cons:

  • "I am disappointed that its too thick for my application."
  • "The sleeve previously applied on the treadmill roller with the heat shrink tube was loose and would easily slide up and down the roller."
  • "I melted some of the rope underneath."
  • "This heat shrink is too thick and not sure the so called inner adhesive does anything."
  • "It is too thick, i was hoping it would shrink around the stereo cable."
  • "The tubing is very thick but it’s not flexible."
  • "I'm using these for something visible and my only complaint is it wrinkles really bad so I cant use it."

Adhesive Quality

Pros:

  • "It shrinks well and has a glue inside that oozes out of the ends to seal the ends and make them waterproof."
  • "In no time it snugged right up and the adhesive started bulging out of the ends."
  • "This has something akin to hot glue coating the inside, so when it's heated enough to shrink, that coats everything and seals it completely."
  • "The tubing has a generous amount of adhesive that provides an air tight seal and shrinks uniformly as required."
  • "The glue softens with heat and the tubing even squeezes a little out when fully shrunk, for an air-tight bond."
  • "It shrinks tightly around 4AWG wire and the adhesive holds it firmly in place."
  • "As you heat this material you can see the 'glue' inside the tube extruding slightly out of the end and adhere to the wire forming a barrier."

Cons:

  • "Shrink tubing was not the correct diameter, and did not shrink down to seal the connection."
  • "Not sure if they are water proof I've used 3M before and a thick glue comes out of the ends while heat is applied these didn't"
  • "The adhesive did not stick well to the hose jacket once it cooled."
  • "The end that didn't shrink enough also had glue come out the end and stick out weird."
  • "Sadly, this tubing did not seal perfectly for my application."
  • "It DOES NOT have any adhesive in the inside that I could detect."
  • "Very little adhesive as well."

Value and Packaging

Pros:

  • "Waaaay cheaper than those assortment packs."
  • "The price is very good."
  • "Very inexpensive."
  • "After shopping around I found out that this was a much better deal than buying it from my local parts store."
  • "The box they come in is very sturdy plastic and should last long after the tubes are gone."
  • "I've ordered from this particular seller several times and will continue to order from XHF as this heat shrink is an excellent product."
  • "Heat Shrink seems to be of great quality and seals very well. I felt it was slightly over priced."

Cons:

  • "The photo shows a roll but my order showed up kinked and shoved in plastic bag."
  • "The product that was advertised works but because the picture is deceptive, it looks like you’re getting a lot more than you receive."
  • "The Tubing was also packaged very well just as the image depicted; others have shown one thing but then you receive it differently."
  • "The material is nice and thick but not so brightly red in color as depicted in the product picture."
  • "I did not appreciate the fact that Amazon and the seller hid that it is made in China."
  • "Comes folded up, not rolled."
  • "The 1 issue is the storage box latches, even though I only opened the box to check out the product and place identification stickers on it the latches aren't the greatest."
