Design and Build Quality

Pros:

  • "It extremely sturdy and even looks really cool on a keychain."
  • "I like the fact that it is all metal, has a built in key-ring hole (that is built into the metal, not a cheap thing that will break), and does not require a cap nor the need to extract / retract the plug."
  • "The integrated keyring is a smart addition, allowing me to keep the flash drive easily accessible and preventing the risk of misplacement."
  • "They look great. The metal enclosure gives these units a great finish."
  • "Whether I'm on the go or working in demanding environments, I can trust that my data is safe and secure inside the sturdy housing."
  • "Advertised to be very durable being waterproof, shockproof, and magnet proof."
  • "This is great to hang on my keychain and I've had a couple of these and they never lose any data or get corrupted."

Cons:

  • "It is difficult to insert into the port and difficult to remove as well."
  • "Quite hard to insert and remove from USB plug on every device I tried. I'm pretty sure it will damage the ports over time so I don't even want to use it."
  • "Everything is fantastic about this usb drive, minus the fact that it is incredibly tight to get in and out."
  • "The first time I put it in my laptop, it was a tight fit and was immediately scratched up."
  • "It's apparently a bit thicker than most other flash drives and I had to really work to get it into a USB port."
  • "The shape of this usb will cause you problems. If you try to plug a usb in next to it for PCs, the other one might not have enough room."
  • "One thing that does worry me is that it is a little too small, and after a while of using it made me realize that it could be lost easily."

Performance and Speed

Pros:

  • "Love this usb drive because it's super small and really fast."
  • "I have experienced consistent read and write speeds of up to 400MB/s, which significantly reduces file transfer times, especially when dealing with large multimedia files or backups."
  • "This USB stick (bar) is WAY FAST for transferring files. You can expect speeds of about 115 Mb per second."
  • "I'm thoroughly satisfied. It's not as fast as my SSD but it's so close that I honestly don't want or need something faster."
  • "I was pleasantly surprised that it was constantly writing at around 87-90MB/s with the occasional drop for a couple seconds to around 75MB/s as well as rarely but still sometimes breaking 100MB/s."
  • "Works as advertised, with usable storage at 239 GB... Slightly exceeding 400MB/s on usual sequential reads."
  • "The 256Gb version has exceptionally R/W speeds."

Cons:

  • "It does get warm under use - but again, I don't leave it plugged in more than a few seconds at most, to upload the latest version."
  • "I'm not the only one out there noticing how HOT this thing gets."
  • "This drive gets quite hot when copying very large amounts of data."
  • "I get needing to have an encrypted device, but it's 2024 and Samsung is an established brand, I shouldn't have to format and reinitialize the REQUIRED encryption 6 times before it finally reaches 100% After this, the files were corrupted and I had to start the process over again, which kept getting stuck on 95%."
  • "The write speeds for this USB are nowhere near the advertised speeds. In fact, I keep getting around 30MB/s write speeds, whereas it advertises 300MB/s."
  • "While transferring large files, the flash drive gets really hot and speed drops a lot."
  • "These drives have excellent write and read performance, outperforming others by 400%."

Capacity and Storage

Pros:

  • "I like the flashdrive for the basic reason that it's a flashdrive. But I thought I paid for 128 gb, instead it shows that I have 119, which renders this drive not as useful as I thought."
  • "It's so small it easily fits into your pocket with change without noticing."
  • "For the money and how fast they were delivered… I’m more than thrilled."
  • "Cool tiny USB flash drive with lots of capacity."
  • "It is smaller that i expected, which is a good thing."
  • "The 256G reads at 450Mbps, but writes at 120Mbps."
  • "It has great storage and seems to be optimized for photos and video media which would be perfect for this use case."

Cons:

  • "I just checked the properties on this USB drive and it's showing '2.5gb' TWO POINT FIVE???? where's the 128gb I'm supposed to have on this unit?"
  • "The USB 128GB 3.1 item itself is completely unsatisfactory."
  • "I thought this was going to be a good USB because it's a brand one. WRONG. I transfer all my pictures to it as I was getting a new computer and it corrupted all my files."
  • "But after a few files, the speed dropped tremendously."
  • "I bought 2 flash drives and both are locked and I can't add any files."
  • "This drive feels really solid and supports fast reads, but the write speeds do not come close to the 400MB/s advertised read speed."
