Sleep Improvement

Pros:

  • "The first night he slept 11 hours with only one wake up to eat/poop (he had been waking up 3++ times) the second night he slept a solid 8 hour stretch for the first time in his life."
  • "The first night he went 9 hours, the second he went 12!"
  • "Only got the Merlin suit a few days ago but it changed my daughters sleeping for the better!"
  • "This sleep suit is so seriously magic. 7+ hours a night for a 5 month old."
  • "Fourth night and all nights after have been excellent. He only wakes up one time for a bottle. Sleeps the rest of the night."
  • "We went from waking every 4 hours to sleeping through the night and maybe waking 1 time."
  • "Since the first night, she is back to sleeping through the night! And she is much easier to put down for naps, requiring almost no rocking."

Cons:

  • "The first nap he didn’t fall asleep for close to 10 minutes (as opposed to 2) and there was a hood amount of crying and wild flailing of arms and legs."
  • "I had such high hopes for this suit but after three nights of bad sleep we are probably not going to use it anymore."
  • "Doesn’t help a poor sleeper get better sleep as we had hoped."
  • "The first night wasn’t good. Second night wasn’t good. Third night was okay."
  • "The first night with the suit he woke up at 3am and we couldn't get him to sleep until 4:15am, second and third nights he spent all night moving and waking up after startling."
  • "I noticed she is overheating."
  • "It's been just a few weeks, and the seams started to bust."

Material and Design

Pros:

  • "He gets the perfect balance of freedom, hand access for self soothing, and some restriction to keep him from startling too often."
  • "It keeps her warm without needing a blanket, it’s breathable but also cozy enough to simulate being swaddled."
  • "This truly helped subdue her startle reflex and kept her cozy at night/naps."
  • "It’s super easy to zip the suit down for a quick change without having to worry about reswaddling arms."
  • "Durable though since it’s been through MANY washes."
  • "Super soft and cozy for the little one."
  • "Just buy it. It is not hot as you may think. The fabric is breathable."

Cons:

  • "The cotton is MUCH less rigid, rendering it ineffective (he was just too wiggly) and the arms and legs seemed to be too short (he’s not a big baby)."
  • "However, the interior is polyester and not 100% cotton as the website might lead you to believe."
  • "The filling is polyester so basically she’s sleeping in a plastic filled suit that doesn’t breathe, she was waking up overheated every night…not good for SIDs!"
  • "The white/cream color shows spit up stains horribly."
  • "It weirdly seemed too big and too small at the same time."
  • "It’s bulky, but our little one can move both his arms and legs in it."
  • "The only downside it has in my opinion is the babies hands and feet can get cold."

Convenience

Pros:

  • "I immediately bought a 2nd one and thought I would try the cotton."
  • "It is a nice material though."
  • "I couldn't wait till my daughter was 3 months so we can try this out... As soon as we put her in this and rocked her a bit, she was sleeping!!"
  • "This product is really high quality and worth every penny."
  • "If you are second guessing buying this product for one second DON’T!!"
  • "It's a miracle! We also love how soft and thick it is, because it will keep her warm through the winter."
  • "I wish I would have gotten this when he was smaller. I’ll keep it to use it in the future when we have a second baby."
