Clamping Mechanism

Pros:

  • "It clips on to almost anywhere."
  • "It has a really strong grip and doesn't budge."
  • "The clamp mechanism is very strong, and non-slip rubber keep it in place."
  • "The clamp is strong and does not slip."
  • "I can put it anywhere and it grips on like super glue."
  • "Clamps on in seconds anywhere on anything."
  • "The spring clamp is very strong and has rubber on the grip, so it does not slip or mar up surfaces."

Cons:

  • "The first - the spring clamp is so stiff that's it's really tough to get it open wide enough to clamp onto anything."
  • "The clamping spring is a little workout on its own to open. It's very strong and will definitely not slide or slip off of a sturdy pipe, rod, or tripod."
  • "Seems to be a good product but didn’t fit my cup (although I verified measurements). I was super disappointed to find that it wasn’t returnable."
  • "Larger foam drink coozies will NOT fit in these, you need the slim-fit neoprene style beverage coozies."
  • "It barely fits. I have to open it as wide as it will go and it doesn't wrap all the way around the pedestal."
  • "Very tight - you may have a difficult time opening and closing this clamp."
  • "The 'Holster' accessory provides a partitioned high wall organizer for pens, markers, sharpies, common tools, etc."

Construction Quality

Pros:

  • "Robocup - What I like; quality construction of sturdy material."
  • "Springs are tough and clamp tightly."
  • "These things are indestructible......stay in place on the roughest seas."
  • "Very well thought out design, the option to unscrew the bottom of the cups and velcro to adjust the upper portion of the cup makes this useful for many applications."
  • "Really solid construction."
  • "Very sturdy and very well made."
  • "Durable, strong, versatile!"

Cons:

  • "Mine arrived cracked."
  • "Springs didn't last!"
  • "Holy wows the clamp on this thing is hard to open."
  • "The MAJOR problem with these is the pvc type material that they are made out of. After less then a year the plastic becomes so brittle that they crack and break around the clamps."
  • "Works great until the UV rays make the plastic crumble."
  • "POOR QUALITY, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE - item broke within 3-year warranty."
  • "This cup holder doesn't hold my yeti cup or my daughter's water bottles."

Versatility

Pros:

  • "I've used mine everywhere I go as an instant and convenient cupholder for beverages."
  • "Side cutouts allow for cups with handles - or your fishing gear."
  • "I got it for my microphone stand, but I think it will attach to lots of things."
  • "Easily moves from spot to spot."
  • "Love this cup holder! We use it on our sailboat to keep our beverages from slip sliding away from us."
  • "Really holds stuff - great add-on for our pontoon boat."
  • "I use my ROBOCUP on stage (and at rehearsal) with our band."

Cons:

  • "Their design limits the clamping position to vertical rails and I hope they'll soon have a model that will work on a horizontal rail."
  • "The only down fall is it only clamps vertically so you can't attach to anything horizontal."
  • "Just wish it had a turn mechanism on it to be able to position the RoboCup upright as the only poll we can affix it to on our boat is slanted."
  • "Will only work on a perfectly straight vertical pole, there is no tilt/angle adjustment."
  • "It can only be used vertically on straight up and down parts of a wheelchair or walker."
  • "There is no swivel mechanism to shift the alignment of the cup holders."
  • "The ONLY recommendation, is to design the roto cup to PIVIT to allow clamping to non vertical post."
