Usability

Pros:

  • "It's the perfect thing for seniors, or anyone who has trouble kneeling or squatting, and perfect for people who hate messy wet chores."
  • "Got this one, the pad goes on easy and secure. Easy to fill the container with my preferred cleaner."
  • "It works great and so easy to use."
  • "This mop is super easy to use."
  • "It is easy to assemble, but taking the bottle off to fill it up with the cleaner was hard to pull off."
  • "So easy to use, handy and it doesn’t occupy a lot of space at all!"
  • "I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to family and friends."

Cons:

  • "However, while I do like that the mop head is reversible, I'm not impressed as it leaves streaks everywhere."
  • "Mop pads are a hassle to remove for washing after use because they fit so tightly."
  • "The mop head doesn't pick up dirt well so I've been having to use my foot to push down on the edges to pick up."
  • "The mop head itself just doesn't have the rigidity to scrub floors, especially on the ends, and it pops off the handle from time to time."
  • "The base is too large and flimsy making it too lightweight, it leaves streaks, and only makes contact with the floor in the middle."
  • "The mop head itself is not very absorbent and does not clean vinyl plank or laminate floors well. It leaves streaks because the mop head is not padded or thick enough."
  • "The pad is not very absorbant. I would go over the same spot multiple times, and it would never fully dry."

Durability

Pros:

  • "All O'Cedar my 1st and 2nd was the 1st generation ones and after years they needed be replaced."
  • "I currently have 3 of the mop pads, they go through the washer and hang to dry, and other than some light staining look like they could be new so they definitely have held up!"
  • "The pads (I bought 2) are the main reason I bought this. They have been through the wash probably 20 times at this point and are holding up wonderfully."
  • "I have been using this for months now and they are great. The dual sides mopping really comes in handy when we spray extra and make that side completely wet, clean it with the dry side."
  • "So far the pad is holding up well after multiple cleaning and laundry cycles."
  • "The included three pads are very durable and easily washable."
  • "With light mopping a few times a week I feel like the quality is good enough it should last a few years."

Cons:

  • "The second one I buy and the same part where the spring moves to spray water, breaks."
  • "I've had like 5 of them and inevitably the same thing happens every time, it stops spraying nicely and starts streaming or not spraying at all."
  • "But word to the wise -- they break after just a couple months. The quality just isn't there."
  • "after not even having the 3rd generation mop for less than a month it stopped spraying the floor and was leaking in the retainer cup."
  • "So I purchased a 2nd new generation mop just in June and this one is already having issues with it's sprayer as well."
  • "EDIT: The sprayer feature stops working after a year and you can't fix it (I'm handy)."
  • "The spray mechanism broke. I think it detached inside the sealed tube of the mop where I couldn’t reach it, rendering the whole mop useless except as a dust mop as the head is too big to fit in a pail."

Customer Service

Pros:

  • "Product arrived with missing parts, so I reached out to the seller and they did not help."
  • "They sent me a coupon for a full new product."

Cons:

  • "Called their customer service number and the recording told me they are closed for the holiday? What holiday and where? It's 5/19?!!"
  • "Looks great but trigger for the sprayer is inoperative. Put it together per instructions. I went to O'Cedar customer service site as directed. Put in my info and problem with the mop and it keeps saying my address and phone number are not valid."
  • "I contacted the manf. and they said there aren't any replacement parts to fix the leak so I would need to buy a new one."
  • "I contacted customer support with no response."
  • "The handle where the handle is to dispense the floor solution doesn’t even work and the floor mat doesn’t even connect because there’s a part of it broken off on the inside."

Eco-Friendliness

Pros:

  • "I really like the ability to machine wash the cloths - very eco friendly -"
  • "I bought this because I wanted a swiffer style mop without wanting to create constant waste (and continually have to re-buy products)."
  • "The pads can go in the washer which is good for the environment as well."
  • "I like the fact that the mop has a washable cover, seemed more environmentally friendly than one where the mop head can't be cleaned so must be put in the trash."

Cons:

  • "The microfiber pads, even after being washed, are SO unabsorable that they literally just push the water and spray around on the floor and leave horrible dirt streak marks on my tile."
  • "The mop pads are difficult to put on and remove, so I can't simply rinse out the pads in my cleaning solution and reapply to avoid leaking."

Design

Pros:

  • "I got this because I was tired of the Swiffer mop pads not staying on the pad and I did not want a battery mop. I was really disappointed because my wood floors came out with disgusting streaks and sticky floors; however, my kitchen tile floors and the bathroom floors came out beautiful."
  • "You can mop up a mess with one side, then use the clean side to refresh the area."
  • "The flippable mop side is pretty useful if one side starts to get dirty, you can utilize the other size to continue mopping until you have to clean or replace the microfiber pads."
  • "Not only is the base on a swivel so you can use both sides of the cloth pad, but you can take it off and wash it very easily!"
  • "Easy to change pads, hidden velcro strip. 2 usable sides at once. Gives double the cleaning surface."
  • "I absolutely love the fact that this new mop has flipping mop head with more surface area at one time and don’t have to worry about changing the pad often."
  • "The mop goes under furniture and into corner with ease and flips over to the clean side."

Cons:

  • "I like the brand O-cedar, but I don't understand why they don't allow their spray mops to disassemble."
  • "Unfortunately not only did the spray not work, as while mopping I would spray, and it was spray all my furniture (the spray was angled horrible) but it was IMPOSSIBLE to disassemble after putting it together."
  • "I can't get up against furniture or walls unless I use the front of the mop, but it's so damned big, that it's just not always an option."
  • "It seems to shoot out the front of the mop when I push the mop forward."
  • "Cleaned the tile floor nicely but, Ooh! that handle!"
