Odor

Pros:

  • "The Ninja Brand product has no chemical odor like other brands I have purchased in the past."
  • "No plastic smell, my interior design client was really happy."

Cons:

  • "But the chemical smell was horrible."
  • "I re-packaged it immediately after opening it because the smell was awful."
  • "The chemical smell is overwhelming."
  • "But it really smells bad once it is unwrapped!! Strong chemical smell."
  • "Requires at least a week opened up in the garage to off-gas that awful smell it came with."
  • "The chemical stench is awful."
  • "Frustrated and disappointed by misleading description... the chemical smell was very strong."

Installation and Fit

Pros:

  • "So far so good. Bought two of the 8x10 (maybe 8x11?) size and cut them to fit the exact size of the rugs."
  • "Very easy to install. No issues with the rug laying flat on this product and not curling at any of the corners."
  • "It was easy to lay down and then adjust as needed."
  • "You only need kitchen sheers, cut to size and place under the rug."
  • "It was very easy to cut."
  • "I had to purchase a slightly bigger size than my oddly shaped rug, but it was easy to trim to the correct size."
  • "This was exactly as advertised and fit my runner perfectly."

Cons:

  • "I hadn't noticed it was only for hard floors, not carpet."
  • "Bought these for two kitchen 8' runner rugs on LVT flooring. They seem to be ok for the first day or so after that they do not work at all."
  • "The picture looks like the pad is felt on one side rubber on the other, it is just lightweight rubber mat. Disappointing!"
  • "I just got mine today. I bought the 2x8 size for my new runner of the same size but it does not match the complete width of my runner."
  • "The rug pad was way to big even though I selected the correct size 5 x 9. I had to do a lot of cutting."
  • "I ordered 8x10 and my new carpet is also 8x10, but the pad is a lot larger."
  • "Actually larger than stated (Or my rug isn’t exactly 8x11) I hot glued the pad to the back of my rug so that it would never slip out."

Effectiveness

Pros:

  • "An ample supply of the gripper pad, once cut and put into place, provided the answer to the area rug as though I glued it down."
  • "Otherwise: Good value for the money and definitely keeps the rug from sliding around."
  • "This is just what I needed to go under a 4x6 area rug - it really grips nicely and the rug doesn't move at all."
  • "Works perfectly to keep my 5x8 jute rug from sliding around on a porcelain tile."
  • "The Ninja rug pads really work."
  • "Ordered this, cut to fit, no more slipping and sliding."
  • "This pad works very well on the hardwood floor."

Cons:

  • "Does not work on hard floors... Also, it's super thin."
  • "Pad does not grip well on hardwood and caused rug to keep moving a lot."
  • "It doesn't keep the rug in place. Save your money. Find another product."
  • "Do not buy this!!! It literally adhered to our Spanish tile floors and is nearly impossible to remove."
  • "Not really worth what I spent due to the fact it was VERY thin."
  • "Overall, not a great product. If they do not stick to both surfaces, the rug will move, and it does, all the time."
  • "This did not do anything for my carpet. It still moved..."
