Material Quality

Pros:

  • "These new undershirts are very light weight and breathable which is awesome under heavy scrubs."
  • "Theyre thicker, but not heavy; soft, just slightly longer, and looks like theyll hold theyre shape through multiple washes."
  • "The cotton fabric is nice and soft, a bit on the thin side, but that's OK for summer time."
  • "The material has a very fine, tight, soft, and smooth texture to it."
  • "The cotton gets softer and more absorbent after some wear."
  • "These are what I wear in the garage everyday. They don't show oil spots, covered in under car dirt they still don't look too bad, and they're durable, and last a good while."
  • "The material is strong and soft, but not too thick."
  • "This is a really rough shirt, and far too thick for comfortable wear in my opinion. It says ComfortSoft but when I got it in person it also said heavyweight."

Cons:

  • "The material was like cardboard."
  • "The cotton fabric is so thin, you could see the tag through the fabric."
  • "These are a bit thin for what I'd prefer so I won't be reordering any time soon."
  • "The poor fit makes the shirt wrinkle up when I wear it as an undershirt."
  • "The cotton is thin and must be treated with something that makes you feel slimy in them."
  • "I think they've crossed the line where I'll have to switch brands."
  • "The material turnout to be flimsy at best. The first time I put on the underwear I saw what I thought was a spot only to find out that it was a hole the size of a large O."
  • "The one on the right is the new one I just bought that is the “our most comfortable” 100% cotton Hanes tee. It was literally 4 inches longer before I washed it just once. I should have taken a “before” picture."

Fit and Sizing

Pros:

  • "These T Shirts fit as expected."
  • "I wear size Large at 5'11 and 175lbs. The collar is loose but lays flat, the sleeves end halfway up my arm and aren't baggy."
  • "I have a 37" chest with 32" waist and the small is snug and form-fitting, perfect under dress shirts and draws compliments when worn alone."
  • "These are always such a great value. They are not too thin, nor scratchy (100% cotton)."
  • "I thought I was purchasing the same brand and type of undershirt, but I was unpleasantly surprised how poor the quality was with this batch. The large size was too small, smaller than any large I’ve ever tried on."
  • "I am 6' 2", 205lbs with an athletic build. I ordered the large, the length is good however,if you are going to use these as undershirts I would recommend you go one size smaller."
  • "I usually wear an XL or a XXL, I ordered these in a XXXL understanding that they would shrink and didn’t want to be left with a super short white T, but unfortunately that’s what I ended up with."
  • "I have a longer torso, and regular sized undershirts tend to shrink and rise past my belt. These are long enough to comfortably tuck in making them a great purchase for me."

Cons:

  • "These were available at a good price for 6 items. When they arrived, they seemed very long but after washing and drying them they shortened up a bit."
  • "I'm 5'10'' and ordered a smalle and they hang down past my crotch."
  • "After the first wash, the material for three undershirts became very scratchy, unlike any previous undershirts."
  • "I always buy my t-shirts online and always use Hanes so I know what I'm getting. I ordered a 6 pack of 2XL Hanes Crew Neck Tees. When they arrived, the printed logo at the neck said Hanes 2XL, but the logo didn't look right. Then I tried them on."
  • "I give only 2 stars because although longer, which is nice, Large size ended up being way too big as and undershirt -- neck was baggy, body and arms baggy."
  • "The shirts received were NOT "TALL"...the size printed inside was not "TALL".... nor was the package marked that...."
  • "The size is fine until you actually wash these. They shrink incredibly and will not stay tucked in. They are quite thin and cheap feeling."
  • "The one and two star reviews are correct; This product is NOT tall size at all. The fit (unwashed) is similar to a fitted large with length no different than a normal large size."

Overall Quality

Pros:

  • "I have lived in an area where the water is not clear. For several years now. Don't know why the local water company cannot make the water clear. Anyway, I order undergarments in colors because white underwear always turns yellow in our water. I am satisfied with the T Shirts."
  • "I have been buying Hanes t-shirts for a while now. Normally, I love them. However, I bought the 6 pack in September. One of the shirts got a hole in it six weeks after I started wearing it."
  • "I have no problem with the seller, however I have been buying these Hanes t-shirts for years and there has been some inconsistency with the sizing from the manugacturer which can be from Honduras, Ethopia, India and I believe at least one other country."
  • "I should've taken heed to the negative reviews. The Hanes tagless Ultra Comfort tee shirts I ordered came with tags, and appears to be fake knockoff cheap thin tee shirts - not authentic Hanes."
  • "The tshirts are nice per the recipient however; the package of tshirts was opened and taped shut. Instead of 6 there was only 5 and I ordered 6."
  • "I've been using ComfortSoft shirts as undershirts for years and every time I ordered them they seemed to be a bit cheaper and thinner."
  • "I give only 2 stars because although longer, which is nice, Large size ended up being way too big as and undershirt -- neck was baggy, body and arms baggy. T-shirt itself is pretty thin material."
  • "Quality of the fabric is extremely poor. The cotton fabric is so thin, you could see the tag through the fabric."

Cons:

  • "Good quality cotton, but quite a bit darker than the picture. I was expecting a light heather gray. These are about midway between heather gray and charcoal."
  • "I thought I would purchase online in order to avoid the crowd at the store. Purchased for church ministry for the homeless. Shirts were very thin. Not the quality I am used to for Hanes."
  • "Not sure what is happening with Hanes these days, but they are certainly going for "do more with less". Less of a shirt, for sure. These things are unbelievably short."
  • "I returned these shirts. The neck hole on this shirt is larger than the older Hanes shirts that I have, and also larger than other brands."
  • "They are very thin and the binding is coming apart very cheaply made."
  • "Soft but thin cotton crew neck to be worn as an undershirt or around the house. They don't shrink (used cold water wash and tumble dry low) but they do lose their shape at the neck after a while."
  • "Not digging the crew neck, but it'll do.Ill advised if your man boobs damage your ego. These shirts are kinda thin. The pink, fleshy glow of pasty, white winterized skin shines through the fabric quite well."
  • "I've bought this item before and it did me well, but when I reordered the item a year later it seems Hanes has slumped on quality. The T-shirts are now ultra thin and they don't fit right anymore."
