Color and Coverage

Pros:

  • "I used Reshma's henna to cover my grey hair and to condition them. Post the use, it nourished my scalp and also covered them all leaving a hue of brownish red shade (love it!)"
  • "Great product, easy to use and the rich color was better than the semi-perm rinse I used to use."
  • "It did not cover quite all the gray, but it did enough to return my hair to its natural brown with a hint of the henna red."
  • "It made my gray hair turn into beautiful highlights."
  • "Using Reshma Henna was easy and it covered my gray well and the color, natural black, well, it looks 'natural' and not super inky black."
  • "It fully covered my grays from the roots to the ends and softened my hair as well."
  • "The Reshma henna worked well at coloring my white hairs. My black hairs didn't change too much in color, but had a darkish brown highlight to it, and my white hairs initially turned a red color which softened in tone after a few washes."

Cons:

  • "The color is not as rich and dark, either. And in areas where I had a lot of gray, the brown looked fake."
  • "This product is great if you want your hair to turn black and smell awful even after multiple washes... In addition, it turned my hair black. And not a good black. It was like a dusty, old black and it didn't look good."
  • "This is 'brown' shade and yet my hair is orange."
  • "The reviews about it being very dark are definitely accurate."
  • "I order 3 boxes of Natural violet. Which turned out not to be enough for my hair, not a big deal. However, the fact that my hair is now BLACK is a big problem."
  • "Wanted a natural looking dark wine or burgundy color with a purple tent so I mixed Dark wine and Violet hoping I would have like a purple ish red and instead have nearly black hair."
  • "The henna did not cover a single grey hair."

Application and Use

Pros:

  • "It was easy to use and I only waited about 40 minutes."
  • "This was easy to apply and came with plastic gloves and a small plastic brush."
  • "I mix the midnight blue and dark brown and get a great color that lasts weeks."
  • "I like the 30 minute time frame and it works in that time."
  • "Easy application, gloves and an applicator brush are included."
  • "The application is incredibly easy, as is the mixing of the product."
  • "This henna is easy to use. You mix, wait, apply, wait, and rinse."

Cons:

  • "PLEASE DON'T USE THIS PRODUCT if your hair can potentially become dry, brittle and break."
  • "Ruined my hair. Stripped all natural oils from it."
  • "Getting it out is impossible. I have shampooed my hair 6 times now and still cannot fully run my fingers through my hair."
  • "Be very careful when using this product it is messy and it drys fast."
  • "It's more of a clay/ paste consistency, so it's really hard to apply evenly and in enough time."
  • "It takes a second person to see where to apply the dye and to make sure it gets on your hair and not your skin or eyes."
  • "Mostly, it was a goopy, globby mess!"

Natural Ingredients and Chemicals

Pros:

  • "Keeps the hair soft without the chemicals."
  • "The beauty of henna is that it is essentially chemical free which translates to a much lower risk of allergic reactions."
  • "The henna also keeps hair soft, and I swear helps prevent breakage."
  • "On a natural hair care journey and this was perfect for my first time trying henna hair dye!! Very staining and simple to use."
  • "It's so nice to be able to use a product that not only works, but is not filled with a bunch of questionable chemicals."
  • "And no ammonia or harsh chemicals! A++ product!"
  • "No more chemical hair dye for me!"

Cons:

  • "However, Reshma Henna is not an all-natural product. It does contain p-Phenylenediamine (it’s listed on the box), which is a chemical compound commonly included in hair dyes."
  • "It is not justly Henna and natural products."
  • "This product is terrible. It is advertised as a 100% organic henna product but it contains PPD."
  • "First of all, if you’re looking for a natural product this isn’t it. It has henna powder in it but it’s mostly chemicals."
  • "The listing fraudulently states 'chemical-free' and 'all natural' when the ingredients on the box contain very harmful chemicals."
  • "Claims to be all natural and chemical free but look at the ingredients."
  • "This product has chemicals similar to a regular hair dye."
