Durability

Pros:

  • "Good, sturdy compost bags. These ones do not tear at the seam and leak, or bust open easily."
  • "These bags are sturdy, strong and easy to dispense."
  • "These bags are great and we use them for cat litter scooping, cooking waste, hygienic waste, and in a jam we use them as dog waste bags."
  • "These bags are study, you can easily tear them off of the roll w/o damaging the bag."
  • "They do not leak and are sturdy."
  • "I love these bags, an eco-friendly alternative to traditional plastic bags."
  • "They are strong and leak proof."

Cons:

  • "The company's new box design came loaded with an inferior product."
  • "But it still requires a plastic bag underneath to make sure it doesn't mess our trash can and that sort of undermines the point of compostable bags."
  • "The bags are very thin and flimsy and some rip at the seam when I opened them."
  • "Super convenient and rather strong, but the seams along the bottom of the bag are not super secure."
  • "The first one leaked, might have been cut by egg shells."
  • "Nearly every bag leaked from the bottom seam, making a huge mess."
  • "These bags are thin, leak through easily and do not hold up."

Size and Fit

Pros:

  • "They're the perfect size for our 1.3 gallon compost container."
  • "Perfect size for my countertop compost bin."
  • "These bags fit our countertop compost bin and make getting the compost from our counter to the outside bin easy as pie."
  • "These compostable bags are excellent, they fit most containers and hold up well."
  • "The 2.6 gallon bag fit perfectly in my smallish kitchen compost tote and I’ve never had a problem with leakage or breakage."
  • "These bags are really nice. They are thicker than most and perfect in size for a small waste basket."
  • "They are sturdy and large enough to fit into the juicing extractor."

Cons:

  • "The bags start to deteriorate in quality. Even when I tear it from the roll, it rips the bottom open."
  • "The seams were in the wrong spot; only half the bag was usable."
  • "Using in a small food scrap bin 7x8x11 high. These are not quite big enough to open fully on the bottom and still stay hooked over the edges of the top."
  • "This bag is just short of useless. Way too small."
  • "They are smaller than I needed (but that's on me)."
  • "These bags were specifically recommended for the compost pail I purchased at the same time, but they barely overlap the top edge of the pail and often fall down in the pail when food scraps are added."
  • "These 2.6 gallon compostable bags are just a tad too short for my community's compostable pails and don't stay on once there's something in the bag. 3 gallon bags fit better."

Compostability

Pros:

  • "I’ve been buying these for over a year, they decompose slower then the rest of my compost but more then worth it to keep my compost bin clean and free of bugs and smells."
  • "Having certified biodegradable bags is certainly helping."
  • "I'm just glad to be bit by bit, reducing my use of plastics - which is pretty D*** hard."
  • "I love that they are biodegradable."
  • "These have been my go to compost bags for many years, they dispense easily, are affordable and durable enough for a week of wet food in the compost on the counter."
  • "These bags break down fully in my compost tumbler."
  • "Love these. Use them in my personal compost pile, they breakdown easily."

Cons:

  • "On at least 5-10% of the bags, the perforation doesn't line up with the sealing between bags."
  • "So far they have been breaking about half the time."
  • "We started double bagging just to use them up…nope, that didn’t work either."
  • "I will be returning this product and will not purchase again."
  • "Avoid or know that you have a 30-50% chance of having a portion of your bags unusable or failing too fast."
  • "These things, if scraps sit in there longer than two days, they start falling apart."
  • "These don't dissolve in the compost bin as promised. I had to dug several out of the bin after finding they were sitting in it completely intact even after several months."
