Design and Build Quality

Pros:

  • "This water bottle is my go to. Love the chug and straw lid!"
  • "I love the ability to pop the mouth protector with a simple button."
  • "The double insulated walls allow for warm or cold beverages to stay warm or cold with ease."
  • "The bottle itself is great. I love that the lid locks and that the straw is completely protected from getting dirty."
  • "I love the two sip options. I also love that it has a lock, because I always throw my water bottle into a bag."
  • "The straw and the sip is so awesome that you can drink all the water in the bottle without leaving a drip."
  • "The built in straw has a smooth suck."
  • "I love the straw and open/close mechanism the most. Does not leak."

Cons:

  • "I would suggest going with one of the smaller sizes. I have the 32oz size and it does not fit in my cars cup holder."
  • "The bottle I got doesn’t line up with Owala’s usual quality. It has weird seams on the white part of the lid."
  • "Everything about this water bottle is awesome except the fact the pop-up cap breaks within one month of use."
  • "Issue is that it does leak. Have tried to screw it every which way, determined that it's just a problem with the bottle."
  • "The bottle arrived damaged. Had it arrived without the dent it’d be an easy 5 star review but it was extremely disappointing to open it and see that it’s already dented."
  • "I bought it for a trip, but never got to put any water in it, as when it fell out of my backpack while checking my bag and fell less than 3 ft to the floor, the lid and hinge popped off."
  • "I bought this based on all the stellar reviews... I opened it up a few days later to check inside and noticed a small, black piece of plastic shaped like an outline of a half circle flaked from the bottle top."
  • "This bottle was only used with water so I can’t speak to any other uses and was used in the winter so I can’t speak to ice retention."

Cleaning and Maintenance

Pros:

  • "It is easy to clean as sometimes I put flavored liquids in it and need to wash it after. The parts come apart to clean and assemble quickly."
  • "I love this water bottle. I have been using it for a while now and still love it! Pros- leak proof, a non exposed straw, cute colors, and keeps water cold."
  • "I love having a straw but had to refrain from using straws after dental surgery. This tumbler allowed me to drink from the bottle and now use the straw after my teeth healed."
  • "It's easy to clean and there are no ridges or crevices like in some of my other bottles that get cruddy over time."
  • "Super cute and easy to use. I usually hate reusable water bottles with straws because I find the usual silicon hard to drink from, but this straw is great!"
  • "I absolutely love Owala. They’re cute and I like the sip/chug option. But I’ve bought two in the last 6 months and the lid has broken in the same exact place both times."
  • "I love the straw portion and also the pour portion. I have drank more water with this water bottle than I did with my old one. The stickers were just a tiny bit difficult to get off but I love this water bottle!!"

Cons:

  • "The only complaint we have is that we noticed some of the hidden parts are harder to clean and can get mold/dirt in them."
  • "My only complaint would be that it doesn’t actually hold 40 oz of water, instead, it's closer to 32 oz."
  • "I absolutely love Owala. They’re cute and I like the sip/chug option. But I’ve bought two in the last 6 months and the lid has broken in the same exact place both times."
  • "I ordered this water bottle and it has quickly become an essential part of my workout routine, especially during hot yoga sessions. The standout feature for me is the well-placed snap-close option."
  • "The thermos because the straw bangs against the ice. If the straw was centered it may close more easily with ice in it."
  • "I've had this water bottle for a while and realized that my ice was melting within the hour. I didn't realize it early enough to send it back to amazon so I continued using it."
  • "I’ve tried so many brands of water bottles. Swell, hydro flask, contigo, etc and this one is the winner! It keeps the drink cold, you can sip it with the straw or chug the liquid."
  • "I wasn't sure if I'd like the free sip spout, but I do! I've had the CamelBak Eddy for years and I love the bite valve so I thought it would be a difficult transition."
