Durability

Pros:

  • "It's been through nearly 5 years of torturous use and it is in great shape."
  • "I've had this backpack for 8 years now and it has been through a lot... Haven't had the first strap or buckle break on it."
  • "This backpack has survived the rough conditions of Texas very well."
  • "After all this time and use, it still looks great, almost like in the pictures."
  • "The straps are plush and elastic net water bottle slots are sturdy. The heavy canvas like material is tough."
  • "Its very durable. I've had it for about 2 months now and it hasn't shown any wear and tear."
  • "This backpack really holds up. I’ve had it for about 3 years and it looks brand new."

Cons:

  • "It lasted a year. Just long enough to not be able to return it."
  • "At first my son loved this backpack... But less than a month into the school year the seam on one side completely split, making it unusable."
  • "The seams started ripping out."
  • "The only thing I have to complain about is that the side clip straps broke ripped off pretty early on and the side mesh ripped pretty easy as well."
  • "The liner of the compartments is ripped to pieces."
  • "The zipper gave out on me the first week in August of 2022."
  • "Both mesh water pockets ripped, so I am just giving up and buying a new one."

Storage and Compartments

Pros:

  • "Pro: multiple different compartments, comfy shoulder straps."
  • "It has SO many pockets and compartments. You can fit a ton of things in here."
  • "Fits everything. The best for traveling, taken it on all my spirit airlines flights and fits under the seat."
  • "They've done very smart things with the pockets, giving plenty of storage and space."
  • "With large areas for books and laptops, and plenty of small compartments for phones, pens, and other odds and ends, as well as a place for smaller water bottles, this is a well thought out bag."
  • "It has cushioning for a laptop, and so many other pockets and what not."
  • "Tons of room in this bag with 3 huge storage areas for gear and accessories and a good organizer pouch up front."

Cons:

  • "Pretty small. It looks big but with all the different pockets it really doesn't hold much unless everything is the right size for each pocket."
  • "It has too many pockets (5) and it's confusing when you are trying to open the correct pocket."
  • "The compartments are SUPER stiff, trying to get a full 3 ring binder in there is almost impossible without fighting with other compartments."
  • "The extreme amounts of pockets... actually makes it hard to load."
  • "The straps intended to hold water bottles in place make it difficult to remove items from these pouches even at the loosest setting."
  • "The main compartment has the laptop sleeve in the middle. Why? It splits in half the capacity potential!"
  • "The side netting is too tight for most waterbottles. I had to jury-rig mine with a carabiner and latch it on."

Design and Comfort

Pros:

  • "It's perfect for an overnight bag, makes traveling on airlines easy, safely pads carrying a laptop and books or even perfect for hiking the trails."
  • "This is a great backpack for students who need to tote around their laptop to and from school and classes."
  • "The mesh beverage holders and small top pocket make it great for air travel keeping beverages and ear buds within easy reach."
  • "It's lightweight and very comfortable."
  • "Fully loaded, the straps and padding effectively distribute the weight, making the bag seem surprisingly light when worn on your back."
  • "The cushioning on the back, that goes up against your back, along with the width and cushioning of the shoulder straps are very comfortable."
  • "The back and straps are meshed, which makes the backpack cool to carry around in the summer."

Cons:

  • "Old bag blew out, got this one while traveling, like it okay but it's lightweight and very flexible, so the compartments (cloth dividers with no backing on most of them) tend to collapse if they're not full."
  • "I am not sure why this Backpack has such a high rating."
  • "The material of the fabric attached to the zippers is very flimsy and was fraying after my first use."
  • "Some will not like the fact that the laptop sleeve only covers about 80% of a laptop, leaving 20% exposed to the contents inside your backpack."
  • "It lacks any sort of weather proofing, so as is it's not acceptable for rainy weather."
  • "The laptop sleeve is much smaller than the internal dimensions listed under the advertised product specs."
  • "The side net pockets are great for slightly larger things you'll need often, such as a pocket fan or sunscreen."
