Sound Volume and Quality

Pros:

  • "The sound is perfect. Most electronic toys are way too loud. No worries with this toy."
  • "It does have two options on the back of it for volume which is awesome."
  • "The volume is adjustable and the sound quality is good."
  • "It even shuts off on its own after awhile of no use so the battery lasts FOREVER."
  • "Has three different volume levels that actually get really quiet, quieter than any other toy he’s had."
  • "The volume on it is not too loud and it is entertaining to watch him interact and play the drums."
  • "This drum set is perfect volume! Loud enough my son enjoys it bit not so loud that it gives me a headache."
  • "LOVE that the volume is not obnoxious or loud for this drum."

Cons:

  • "The only thing that I would change about this product is I would want it louder because I wanted my brother to be very annoyed by the sound of drums."
  • "The drum is very small and has annoying music playing in the background."
  • "The music is a little repetitive, but if you don’t mind it’s a great toy!!"
  • "It's not so loud that it's annoying but not so quiet that he gets bored of it."
  • "I dont know if I am doing something wrong but this toy is EXTREMELY silent."
  • "Even on the higher volume setting the volume of the actual electronic drum sounds is lower than the physical sound of whacking on the toy."

Entertainment Value

Pros:

  • "Whenever my 4 year and 2 year old play with their drum set, they get really engaged and follow instruction of the recording."
  • "Great activity for little ones who need an energy release."
  • "Wasn't sure if this would be good but it actually works better than expected, the drum pads activate easily and consistently with the hits."
  • "My friend sent me videos and photos of her son playing with these drums! He had another set if drums that his parents bought for him, but he stopped playing with those after he received this set."
  • "He plays with it every day and enjoys making different sounds and rhythms."
  • "This was a super fun toy! It has alot of different modes so there's alot of life to this toy."
  • "My toddler is into musical instruments so when I saw this I immediately knew that he would love it."
  • "He loves banging on our trash cans and I saw this for a great deal. So I though why not!"

Cons:

  • "It's promising but this toy just steps on its own toes. You can turn off the play-along tunes, but you can't turn off this annoying voice that is telling you want to do."
  • "My one year old is seeming to be very musically talented with his musical toys ie: keyboards bongodrums maracas. So we got him this for his 1st birthday hoping it would also help and I'm pretty disappointed."
  • "This drum set is cute. There are 4 modes to play in. ABC, counting, follow the beat, then freestyle. In abc, it says the letter then lights up 1 of the 4 pads, progressing through the alphabet. Numbers, similar. Follow the beat does what it sounds like. Lights one, child taps, then 2, etc... Now we get to why I have this a 1 start review. You can see on the video, while in freestyle mode, after taking a couple pads, it plays random beats or says random things, completely taking creativity out of the equation."
  • "Don't buy the "frustration free" packaging, all that means is they send you an unboxed product(most likely a used product that was returned and their excuse to sell it again is calling it "frustration free") I only ordered that because the shipping speed was quicker(they don't even discount the returned item they're reselling. And the one I received was broken."
  • "This drum set doesn't let you play without throwing in it's own beats randomly- even on the free play setting with no accompaniment. It makes it frustrating to play."
  • "My son got this for his first birthday and he absolutely loves it. It’s perfect because you can use the sticks or just bash on it with your hands. There are different games to play and different sounds, so it keeps their interest as they age. It’s a little noisy (obviously) but a ton of fun!"
