Installation

Pros:

  • "installation is straight forward, simply screw in. I recommend drilling pilot holes first."
  • "The sliders are working well, The installation was relatively easy but I had to predrill the screw holes."
  • "For easy installation using screws, make sure you pre drill the holes. I did with mine and it was a breeze."
  • "These were easy to install and made a huge difference in how the chair slides on the floor."
  • "They were really easy to install because a previous owner of our dining room set had, I assume, at one point installed the nail-in type of floor protectors."
  • "Installed same day arrived in minutes."
  • "Not difficult to install but tools are required."

Cons:

  • "Upon installing the glides on chairs having glides needing replacement, I noticed the glide thickness was too thin to experience any wear before reaching the screw head."
  • "The product is NOT thick enough and the screws MAY protrude on the bottom and scratch your flooring."
  • "The inside depth (where you put the screw through to attach it to something) is so shallow the screw heads are almost sticking out."
  • "The glide itself was very thin, and the screws were taper (flush) mount - inappropriate for this application."
  • "The chairs are wood and hard, even with pilot holes several screws broke off and others stripped out."
  • "These come with tiny screws made of weak metal (easy to strip)."
  • "The metal screw heads will soon be scraping on the tile floor.. This is an absurdly poorly matched screw for the intended purpose."

Performance and Durability

Pros:

  • "These glides, being teflon, help somewhat."
  • "These were perfect. Replaced old metal disk on some antique chairs."
  • "Love these glides that screw into my dining room chair legs! No scratches on my wood floor."
  • "Needed to make it easy to slide dinette chairs on our luxury vinyl tile floor. These work much better than the felt stick-on type we had before."
  • "I used these on a rectangular chair leg, 3/4” x 1 1/2” and use two on each leg. They worked great."
  • "I like the fact that they attach with screws rather than rely on adhesives which sometimes dry out and let go."
  • "I installed these a couple of months ago, they are still in great shape. This is a time and money saver."

Cons:

  • "Installed on one kitchen dinette chair. They did not slide well and are noisy."
  • "I installed to my chairs and it scratched my vinyl floors."
  • "Did not last 2 months on our chairs under normal family use."
  • "Very thin teflon. Wears out quickly."
  • "They wore down exposing the screw that was scraping the tiles and became difficult moving the chairs around."
  • "The plastic piece is very thin, which means it will wear out quickly and/or split easily."
  • "These don’t glide at all, whether you’re sitting on the chairs or just dragging them gently with no weight - they just snag and drag."

Design and Quality

Pros:

  • "These are very thin compared to the ones I replaced."
  • "The sliders are the perfect height as I was worried it would elevate the chairs disproportionately."
  • "I'm using these on counter-height chairs (4) and went with these because they screw on."
  • "Exactly as described. Included screws as well. We have been using them on kitchen chairs for 2 weeks now with no issues."
  • "These appear to be as sturdy as the previous ones I used that last many years."
  • "These attach with a screw. therefore adhesion was not rated. They slide well on my tile floor and seem to be very durable."
  • "These chair glides appear well made."

Cons:

  • "The pads look like they will work, but the screws provided are domed head not flat head as shown in the product description."
  • "The glides are very nice but the screws provided are too small."
  • "The teflon on the sliders were much thinner (half the thickness) than similar sliders available from local hardware stores."
  • "These are very thin so the screw head is too close to the floor."
  • "does not have as thick of a base as 'name brand' and therefore wear out or expose fasteners to detriment of floor."
  • "Main issue that the glider does not have a beveled hole for the screw therefore, the screw head is not flush."
  • "The sliders are far thinner than others I've used, which means that the material will wear away very quickly."
