  • "Good quality for the price."

Cons:

  • "The binding isn't all that great and the 'stories' are weak."
  • "Books are quite thin and the content is very basic."
  • "Very poor quality. We read many books to our grandchildren and this set is what you pay for."
  • "These were more like thin little pamphlets than actual books."
  • "Books are not going to hold up too long. The binding isn't very strong on them and I'm worried they will fall apart."

Content and Educational Value

Pros:

  • "These books are great for early readers needing some more reading experiences."
  • "Excellent reading level for helping to teach our 3 year olds to read and word recognition."
  • "These books are giving her confidence in independent reading!"
  • "Even though some of the words were beyond her skill level, the fact that she recognized and enjoyed the characters and stories encouraged her to continue to sound out words and finish the books."
  • "They use high frequency words & simple story lines to help beginning readers."
  • "Books are clear and easy to read with a picture on every page."
  • "Great pictures to get her interested and the words easy enough and repetitive enough for easy learning."

Cons:

  • "The binding isn't all that great and the 'stories' are weak."
  • "These could hardy be called books."
  • "Chef, and musician and bouquet are not words that little kids can sensibly sound out."
  • "In these books there are a LOT of words that are just plain not gonna work for a beginning reader to sound out correctly."
  • "Some of the words are ridiculously big and there is no way these are 'learn to read' books."
  • "These books are not good. We own a set of Peppa Pig phonics books for new readers, and each book of that set focuses on one particular vowel sound, like short O or long A. These Disney books, on the other hand, do not."
  • "These are more frustrating than helpful because they contain numerous words that are difficult to pronounce for an early reader."
