Handle Design

Pros:

  • "It's a solid pan that feels great in your hand. The non-stick surface is slick."
  • "The handle is awfully heavy and long for a small pan - it always wants to tip up from the weight of the handle."
  • "The only thing I am not delighted with is the handle, which is quite long and heavier than any other frying pan I've used."
  • "The handle is as heavy as the pan which means it can easily flip over and off the flame when there’s nothing to weight it down."
  • "Handle is long but feels comfortable to hold and flip."
  • "The handle is about 5” longer than normal for a 12” pan."
  • "I noticed that the handle weighed just enough for the pan to lift off the flat electric stovetop surface."

Cons:

  • "The handle is tilted so high up that it seems to throw off the balance."
  • "The handle is heavier than the pan so it tilts over even with food in it."
  • "The weight of the pan is so light that the heavy handle can actually tip the pan over if its set slightly off center on the stove."
  • "The pan will literally tip over if it's not positioned in exactly the right spot."
  • "Being aluminum it's very light and when it's empty you can't really leave it on a stove top because the pan handle is heavy enough to cause it to move off/fall off the (inactive) stove top burner."
  • "This pan is so flimsy and light that if I don’t place it *perfectly* centered on my gas stove top, it teeters like a see saw."
  • "I noticed that the handle weighed just enough for the pan to lift off the flat electric stovetop surface."

Non-Stick Performance

Pros:

  • "The eggs actually slip and slide in the pan with little effort."
  • "Scrambled eggs slide around with a little butter or oil."
  • "It's the best non-stick skillet I have ever had, but it did cost about twice as much as I ever paid before."
  • "I used no lubricant at all and I had zero issues cooking pancakes, then 6 eggs, no sticking whatsoever."
  • "Yes, it's certainly non-stick--food glides off its surface."
  • "I've never ever had a single problem or have anything stick to it."
  • "We use this every day for eggs. You barely need to use oil. the eggs slide off."

Cons:

  • "The nonstick deteriorated after maybe 40 uses."
  • "But after 3 months of use... the bottom of the pan has a considerable amount of black, burned surface that Bar Keepers Friend is unable to clean."
  • "The nonstick coating was great at first, but around month 5 was wearing off and sticking."
  • "The nonstick layer started to deteriorate in less than a year."
  • "The coating is coming off and the nonstick properties have fled for the hills."
  • "Less than a year later, everything sticks."
  • "After maybe 20 uses, not non stick anymore."

Heat Distribution

Pros:

  • "It distributes the heat evenly."
  • "Cooks pretty good. Conducts heat well and gets a good sear."
  • "The even heat distribution is incredible and the silicone handle never gets hot."
  • "Heat distribution is incredible -- everything seems to cook at the same speed with even browning."
  • "This is a great pan... still distributes heat well out to the edges."
  • "It heats evenly, cooks beautifully, is easy-peasy to clean, and an all-around winner."
  • "This pan is great. The heat distribution is spot on and it's super easy to clean."

Cons:

  • "On the INSIDE of the pan, the bolts/screws holding the handle are NOT covered in non-stick coating."
  • "It easily scratches glass cooktops; just placing it on mine caused light scratches."
  • "Cooks more evenly than any of my other pans, including my cast iron skillets."
  • "The pan is not balanced well causing it to wobble when placed on gas burner grates."
  • "It doesn't sit flat on a glass cooktop."
  • "It conducts heat well BUT it doesn’t distribute it."
  • "I used this product once on my glass top stove and the pan scratched the heck out of the surface of the stove."

Quality and Durability

Pros:

  • "It's solidly constructed but the bottom is slightly convex, so it does not sit flat on my glass top range."
  • "This skillet is the best! Heavy duty, sturdy, rubber grip on handle is perfect, and great non-stick!"
  • "These skillets work great, clean up easily, and don't cost so much that you can't bear to throw them out when the non-stick stops working."
  • "This is the best non stick pan I have ever owned. The non stick coating finally wore out after four years of almost daily use."
  • "The quality is amazing and the non stick is just as good as when I purchased it months ago!"
  • "These are good pans, rated highly by many... They stand up to a lot of abuse."
  • "The bottom is flat and has remained so."

Cons:

  • "We had ordered this pan from Ebay; when it arrived there were already scratches on the pan >both top and bottom."
  • "The second one that I purchased for myself warped almost immediately and it never was overheated."
  • "After three or so uses, I can already see some marks in the nonstick finish."
  • "I don't expect this pan to last too long as already after a week's use the exterior bottom is scuffed and scored by my gas stove top."
  • "No longer usable after 4 years of use. Food sticking to pan no matter what oils/sprays we use to coat the pan."
  • "After a year of gentle use, and occasional dishwasher cleaning, the pan is warped, sticky, and nearly worthless."
  • "The pan WARPED in under a month."

Value for Money

Pros:

  • "For the price, I can't find a single pan, even the expensive ones I tried, that have performed like these pans."
  • "And the price is much better."
  • "This pan had good reviews and a 'lifetime' warranty - so I thought it was worth a try."
  • "Tramontina is a great bang for your buck if you are shopping for pots and pans and I highly recommend it!"
  • "This highly recommended non-stick pan is a champ. It costs little compared to the expensive non-stick pans and performs in a superior way."
  • "It's decent at an affordable price."
  • "This is a great pan for the money. Trust me!"

Cons:

  • "I don't usually buy the more expensive pans and I probably won't again."
  • "This product does have a 'lifetime warranty' - but the many reviews on here show that Tramontina doesn't really stand by that."
  • "So, if you want long lasting quality in a frying pan buy something else."
  • "I've had it with ordering non stick pans every year or less."
  • "Judge that price versus some nicer pans and skip these."
  • "Do Not Buy this pan. We used the pan casually for a little under a year. First The pan warped way faster than any other non-stick pans that I have own."
  • "I bought this pan from the recommendation of WireCutter and the promise of “Lifetime Warranty.” Turns out the warranty is only good for manufacturing defects."
