Effectiveness Against Ants

Pros:

  • "I've used this product for ant infestations and it kills them in a couple of days. Works great!"
  • "Put a few drops down…Took a couple days and they were all gone."
  • "The run-of the mill baits didn't do a thing. The Pharaoh ants like this stuff so much that some drowned in it."
  • "This particular product comes with a small bottle...Ants LOVE this stuff."
  • "This stuff works! The key is you have to let the ants get to the liquid and take it back with them to their nest."
  • "Had an ants problem in my kitchen. Tried this product...Worked amazingly well."
  • "Ants love Terro. When you put it out, you will find that it ATTRACTS all the ants."
  • "This ant poison works if you can put up with the whole hive coming out to it for weeks."

Cons:

  • "I can't say this stuff works. I see ants eating it up but after several weeks, I still just see ants eating it."
  • "A few years ago these attracted ants. Tried two packs this year, once in spring, once in summer, and didn’t see any ants going in."
  • "I used individually packed ones before and they worked great. Decided to save big by buying this bottle one. Bad idea."
  • "I bought the 12 pack of traps which worked...but the ants wouldn’t go for it at all."
  • "It works over night!...At 9 pm armies of ants start to pack around the bait. The next morning, very few ants were still eating, but no ant wonder around the kitchen anymore."
  • "My exterminator told me he cannot do better than Terro...This time I tried the liquid product, since it was cheaper and I thought more flexible. It was a total waste of money."
  • "I bought a 2 pack of this product. I placed many many spots of this poison...3 weeks later and I am still hosting an ant buffet."
  • "Do not get this product. The process of killing the ants (Borax) is fine -- however, this product suffers from two significant and serious defects."

Pet Safety Concerns

Pros:

  • "This stuff works! If and when ants invade our home, I put a few drops near their entry point. The attraction to the poison is immediate."
  • "Fire ants are really terrible this time of the year. I saw some in my kitchen and bathroom. I line the edges of the wall with this and they took the bait."

Cons:

  • "This delivery method, you have to drop the product on these little cardboard squares they give you, so the product is just sitting out in the open. It's sticky and messy to do, you have to be really careful when placing it."
  • "The whole line of products work great!...One caution if you have pets in your home it might be smart to use the company's other version that comes inside a sealed plastic container where only the ants can access the poison."
  • "This is not a review based upon efficiency...The ants crawled under it rather than on top where the bait was. I then used some Aluminum foil and pushed it tight to the backsplash and applied the bait and within 30 minutes it attracted many ants."

Ease of Use

Pros:

  • "Simple. See ants, place a small piece of paper or cardboard, drop a few drops of product and puff, you don't see them again (till next year)."
  • "Got ants? Use Terro. I personally won't buy anything for ants except for Terro."
  • "This stuff works well, at least on our type of (small) ants."
  • "This stuff really works! Placed a large dot on the tab provided and within minutes the trail of ants rerouted from their marching line and had covered the glob."

Cons:

  • "Attracts the ants but doesn't kill them. Been using on my kitchen for over a month and the ants keep coming and eating."
  • "Works as advertised. It got both this dropped and the one that comes in a peel off pack, I feel this one lasts long since it’s not exposed to the air and you have greater control on how much you want to use."
  • "I placed the Terro in my pantry cabinet. We always have a large influx of ants every year around Spring. I waited a day or two. The first time I checked, the ants were just crawling around the trap."
  • "I suggest storing this in a sealed ziplock bag, or else ants will find it wherever it is."
