Zipper

Pros:

  • "We love the bottom-up zipper for easy night time changes."
  • "It has two zippers, one on the bottom and one on top, so you don't have to mess with doing a zipper in the middle of the night and don't have to fully take baby out of the sleepsack for night changes."

Cons:

  • "I do not like the zipper. You have to attach at the top of the sack near my baby’s chin."
  • "The triangle one has the double zipper and the starry one only has an upside down zipper - not a fan having to always put the zipper together when my little is fussy!"
  • "This is the ONLY one that has an inverted zipper instead of a 2-way zipper."
  • "I’m leaving only 2 stars because we’ve had this less than a week and the zipper broke."
  • "This one only came with one zipper and is always getting stuck."
  • "It was then we realized there’s a zipper missing!"
  • "Loved the item Until the zipper piece broke off in the night into his crib!! He seriously could have choked."

Material

Pros:

  • "The cotton material is soft and breathable, making it comfortable for him to sleep in."
  • "They provide that little bit of pressure babies need to get to sleep, while giving you peace of mind they can’t slip out and become a safety hazard."
  • "The material is soft and just the right amount of thickness. It keeps her feeling secure and warm without it being too hot."

Cons:

  • "However I will say the leg area is light weight but the portion where it Velcro’s is quite heavy and not as breathable."
  • "We bought the baby blue 100% cotton swaddle and it is a very soft material however, it is too thin of material."
  • "This one I just received was horrible quality. It was Very thin (almost see through) strings all over and it smelled awful."
  • "Well, this cotton sack is completely useless. The material is so thin that it doesn't really swaddle at all."
  • "A nice alternative to the fleece for the warmer nights, I wish we’d gotten one of these at the hospital instead. That said, it doesn’t feel as good quality as the fleece - something about the fabric just feels a little cheap."
  • "The “lion” print one’s fabric is definitely different from the “armadillo” one as the first one feels more wrinkly after its first wash and doesn’t hold its shape even when in use as it rolls up my baby’s face which could be dangerous."
  • "The Mickey Mouse printed swaddle is advertised as muslin but it’s only cotton."

Safety

Pros:

  • "We’ve had no safety concerns with this product it does what it’s intended. I couldn’t ever imagine why anyone would need one in fleece."
  • "After trying the Carter brand and having it almost kill my baby, I was afraid to try another... Read the rave reviews on this one, so took a chance and discovered it was super safe."
  • "This swaddle works wonders and it’s easy to use."

Cons:

  • "I woke up to his mouth and nose being covered by the swaddle."
  • "The swaddle seems to fall differently so that it is always gathered around our sons face and the Velcro is so loud it is constantly waking him up."
  • "The fabric had stretched enough that he had gotten the swaddling pieces up over his face and his arms and was stuck that way his whole face covered very scary."
  • "I definitely recommend this, but be careful because if your baby squirms a lot the fabric if not pulled tight can come up and cover babies face."
  • "Less than 5 minutes after putting our baby in this sleepsack, we found him with his arms underneath the wings and the wings entirely covering his face."
  • "The cut actually makes this sleepsack unsafe! This morning my baby had managed to pull up the end of the lower, non-velcro wing completely so that it was over his face."
  • "Like many other reviewers, I was horrified one night when I checked the baby monitor and saw that the 'wings' were bunched up around my son's face."

Design & Fit

Pros:

  • "Cherry on top - the print design (I got the triangles) is super cute."
  • "Loved the swaddle. I have the Harry Potter design and it’s super cute."
  • "Plus the design is too cute, we got flamingos 🦩 baby girl sleeps 9-10 hours a night in this swaddle, highly recommend!"

Cons:

  • "This sleepsack definitely does not fit newborns... so it’s really hot for her to sleep in."
  • "My baby is very long and the length was awesome but the wings are way too LONG! It completely defeated the purpose of swaddling her."
  • "This product does not work for tall, skinny kids. I couldn't get the swaddle tight enough."
  • "The size chart of the Halo isn’t really accurate. The newborn size was still much too big for our daughter until she was about 8 lb - the fabric could have easily gone up around her face."
  • "This sleepsack definitely does not fit newborns. Our almost 8lb baby is absolutely swimming in it."
  • "The swaddle 'wings'... slides upwards towards the face if you have a squirmy baby."
  • "I have a newborn size sack that's enormous on my 6.5 lb baby."
