Adhesion

Pros:

  • "These adhere well."
  • "Really happy with these. They stay put."
  • "The sticky part is actually sticky & I feel confident throughout the day that it isn’t moving."
  • "Adheres very well and stays in place."
  • "I have had no issue with the adhesion at all. It sticks to my underwear well."
  • "The pad wings make the pad stay in place on your panties which is a plus."
  • "They just fit very well and stay put, even overnight."

Cons:

  • "These barely stick, and instead of just the regular wings in the middle their wing placement is awful and makes no sense."
  • "The pads and wings themselves do not stick."
  • "The wing flaps DO NOT STICK! Like the adhesive must be Elmer's preschool glue stick."
  • "The wings don’t ever stick on these or the overnights."
  • "For the price at which it comes at - they can definitely work on improving the adhesive. That is very very poor."
  • "They wings never stick in my experience, though."
  • "They are not sticky. They don’t stay in place."

Comfort and Fit

Pros:

  • "They are so much more breathable and soft, and fit with my body and underwear really well."
  • "They are very comfortable, they are very absorbent and breathable!"
  • "After a few minutes it totally conformed to my body and was very comfortable."
  • "These are great. I had irritation from always pads and needed a non plastic alternative. These helped significantly. Soft and super comfortable."
  • "They are comfortable to wear and are placed just fine on my underwear."
  • "They are so comfortable like nothing is there and feels much cleaner."
  • "They are pillowy and comfortable, have wings for xtra protection, and the bottom is a little wider to cover any spillage that might occur while one is horizontal."

Cons:

  • "These may be more natural pads but they’re cheaply put together. They bunch up and don’t stay in place, so they are not reliable and aren’t leak-proof…"
  • "Would be nice to have some odor control, like lavender?"
  • "Too short. Adhesive doesn't hold down the edges which tickles in awkward places."
  • "Pads were too thick and too wide with wings on side."
  • "I was a little worried at first it felt 'wide' and stiff."
  • "I just opened the parcel, and found hair that looks like pubic hair INSIDE and on one of the products."
  • "The material tugs and sheds little pieces."

Quality and Absorbency

Pros:

  • "However, these little guys are VERY absorbent even in moderately heavy flow."
  • "They are made from cotton which has eliminated the rashes and smell."
  • "These pads are buttery soft and super absorbent!"
  • "They absorb extremely well (and my period is very heavy)."
  • "The cotton itself is super soft and the pad has great stitching for added absorption."
  • "No weird odor and super comfortable to wear."
  • "They are absorbent, they stick well."

Cons:

  • "Not leak proof."
  • "Absorbency is seriously lacking. The liquid seemed to just sit on the top of the pad."
  • "These pads don’t absorb well AT ALL."
  • "They do absorb ok I guess, but they always feel and look wet."
  • "This product is great if you’re just looking for cotton but as far as leak protection, if your cycle is heavy, this is not for you. It will still leak."
  • "Although they worked okay, they didn't seem to absorb like they should. They also left cotton bits on you, which was annoying."
  • "I feel it too thick and some liquid is hard to get absorbed."

Health and Sensitivity

Pros:

  • "They're free from nasties and were very absorbent."
  • "No rashes. No irritation."
  • "I have had seriously heavy periods since having children... My cramping has all but disappeared! There is no smell either!!!"
  • "They’re really comfortable to wear and my itching is gone."
  • "These felt amazing and gave relief."
  • "I also have very sensitive skin, have a skin allergy to many things, and become very rashy easily. But that hasn't happened with these."
  • "There’s no itching/discomfort and it feels like my skin can 'breathe' more easily."

Cons:

  • "I still get skin sensitivity rash with these."
  • "I cannot tolerate most brands of sanitary napkins and have been buying Rael for my child who just started her periods. She started complaining this month about her pads being itchy."
  • "These pads were great for a couple cycles, then they started making my skin itch like crazy!"
  • "Plastic pads always give me really bad skin irritations and make me choose tampons. But this item is less irritating and soft for my skin."
  • "I did breakout wearing these but I'm not sure if it was caused by the cotton or maybe just circumstances."
  • "These caused some serious burning."
  • "I’ve gotten a painful itchy rash down there and just made the connection that it started when I began this batch of pads."

Environmental and Health Consciousness

Pros:

  • "I like the fact the outside wrapper on each pad is not plastic."
  • "As a health-conscious person, I am always looking for ways to reduce my exposure to harmful chemicals and improve my overall well-being. That's why I was thrilled to discover the Rael Organic Cotton Pads."
  • "I love that it is lined with 100 percent organic cotton and doesn’t have the toxins that most others have."
  • "It’s made out of organic material and it’s not processed in the nasty way that all the other feminine products here in the US are processed."
  • "In today's world where you find harmful chemicals in just about everything, it's good to see that these are organic cotton."
  • "I highly recommend switching to natural organic feminine products instead of using chemical based ones."
  • "Love these products from Rael. They are organic and not filled with toxins, just pure cotton."

Cons:

  • "Everything about this pad I love except the fact that it contains wood pulp. I know that wood pulp is put in foods which doesn’t belong and shouldn’t be in it at all so I can only imagine what it does to a woman’s womb being in a pad."
  • "So basically they put a thin layer of organic cotton over synthetic material and call it organic?"
  • "These pads are fine, but if you're only buying them because the package says organic, be aware that they're only 9% organic cotton."
  • "I am looking for cotton sanitary pads, and Rael only has cotton for the top layer but not inside. The inside materials are absorbents gels which I really avoided."
  • "Although it’s a nice feeling of just having cotton, and not really worrying about rashes all the pads I bought just felt like they didn’t hold much."
  • "Usually, organic products are cheaply made and don't hold up - however, this product is the opposite."
  • "The difference between the large and overnight size is literally one inch so the overnights don’t offer great protection at all."
