Effectiveness

Pros:

  • "It took only two days to kill five field mice in the house."
  • "This stuff works. I put a couple pieces on some rebar wire and hang it on anything close to the ground or where rats or mice are coming from."
  • "My very unscientific method & review: Heard 'scratchy-scratchy' under the house. Threw a few of these through the access door as far as I could into the crawlspace. Two days later, no more scratchy-scratchy."
  • "About a bucket put some out they all disappeared I replaced them the next day nothing has touched them since no more mice no more rats."
  • "This is rat and mouse poison. It’s safe for home use but takes a couple days to get rid of the mice."
  • "Had an infested, tried traps, Decon, traps worked most of the time, decon only very little, these stopped all the rats."
  • "This rodenticide exceeded expectations! Swift and effective, it solved my pest issue effortlessly."
  • "Tired of fighting voles the humane way, I decided to try this product to kill them before I lose my sanity."

Cons:

  • "I bought this along with several bait boxes and placed them where rats are nesting in my yard. It's been a few weeks and the rats haven't touched the bait."
  • "Purchased this bait in October with 6 bait traps set around my yard. After 3 months all 6 bait traps still are full of bait with no signs of eating it."
  • "Had trouble with crawl space mouse invasion. After countless attempts at finding point of entry resorted to bait stations outside of house around foundation. Bait stations now, again, emptied in short order. Just plain doesn't work on deer mice."
  • "bought this on dec 11th, placed couple bait stations, threw several blocks in the attic. They took the whole block and I could hear them gnawing the first day. It was quiet for about a week, no sign of green droppings nor dead rats tho."
  • "The mice don't like it. I opened 2 bags in my garage and I have been finding new mice droppings all around them, yet the bag contents appear untouched."
  • "I have a very large infestation of Ground Squirrels and needed to try something. I deposited these into their holes like an Uber Eats delivery so they could keep watching TV instead of going out to eat. I went out the next day and every single one had pushed it out of their holes uneaten."
  • "after a week nothing had touched one of them on a wire, the one that broke was on a board on the ground and was gone."
  • "I have these blocks everywhere and there is water around too. They chew them down to nubs, I replace them and they eat those too! I probably have more mice then when I started."

Safety Concerns

Pros:

  • "It’s safe for home use but takes a couple days to get rid of the mice."
  • "We have no cats so don't worry about them eating the deceased outside. Handle the chunks with gloves. Keep the tub in a dry place after with the over on."

Cons:

  • "Personally, I despise the product. This will kill your mice and it will kill your dogs who get into it thinking that it's peanut butter treats."
  • "We don’t hear the rats we used to hear daily. We have found two younger rats barely crawling across the floor in the open after using these though so if you have pets; especially cats; I'd be careful."
  • "They do smell a bit after their demise, so be on the lookout for that! Dogs like the taste of them too, so be careful; however my 80 pound German Shepherd got about 1/2 of brick with no ill effects, but that was a bit scary for sure!"
  • "Folks — please don’t use this or any other poison bait. As noted by others, it slow kills and the animal suffers sometimes for as much as 5-7 days."
  • "The Tomcat product melts off the bait station holding wires in the hot summer desert sun, allowing the bait to fall out of the bait station, where birds and other animals can get to it."
  • "We don’t hear the rats we used to hear daily. We have found two younger rats barely crawling across the floor in the open after using these though so if you have pets; especially cats; I'd be careful."
  • "Our "neighbors" put out the Mouse and Rat Bait stations around their cabin. A wild animal removed the bars and then it and most likely, it and other animals dispersed it around the area, and much of it off of their property."
  • "This is not the anti-coagulant formula. This is deadly to all animals that consume it, even as a secondary poisoning."
