Effectiveness

Pros:

  • "Wonderful product for acne or skin irritations. My 15-year-old nephew uses it on his face to clear acne overnight, and I use it to prevent breakouts."
  • "This stuff was drying up any breakouts fast, and there is very little drying of my skin (using twice a day)."
  • "It helps flatten those pimples after 1-3 nights for me."
  • "It does a good job of drying out blemishes, and helping to prevent new ones."
  • "It really does help. It does not make acne vanish over night; however, it does help clear up acne."
  • "It takes down/away my stubborn acne."
  • "This stuff is great for just about any skin problem."

Cons:

  • "after using it very lightly, twice a day, for just two days, I had the biggest flareup of redness and tiny pustules that I've ever experienced."
  • "This has helped my acne a lot though it dries out my skin pretty bad."
  • "I tried this hoping it would help with my rosacea. It made it much worse. It was the worst breakout I've ever had."
  • "Didn’t really work in getting rid of the acne but it didn’t irritate my skin either."
  • "the latest tube I got is....different. It's a thinner consistency, a little oily and isn't really working at all."
  • "Unfortunately it made the scaling much worse."
  • "It does nothing to prevent acne, but it does help dry up the existing acne."

Application and Texture

Pros:

  • "It comes out of the tube creamy, and you can apply it in a very thin layer that dries and bonds pretty well with the skin."
  • "Seems a little goes a long way."
  • "The cream does have a tint to it, which is a bit darker than my fair skin, but once I pat it completely into the pimple/let dry, my liquid foundation applies smoothly over the top to cover the area with no noticeable darker patch."
  • "I liked that the cream applied well, not greasy, flesh colored, and healed my skin rash well."
  • "This stuff doesn't spread all that easily on your skin (even worse if you have facial hair!) and the stuff looks like a thick makeup foundation."
  • "Seems like it contains safe clean ingredients! This product works well on my blemishes. Better than anything I've tried."
  • "I spread a small dab on her forehead at nights and it has noticeably cleared it up and made her feel much better!"

Cons:

  • "If you try to rub it in it balls up and comes off which is disappointing."
  • "You can't (at least I can't) put on a stays-on-for-24-hour foundation with this underneath. You also can't even use it under plain liquid foundation; it changes the texture of the makeup and makes the make up application streak."
  • "With some sulfur products, it was fried from one application! De La Cruz Pomada de Azufre Sulfur ointment has 10% sulfur and it is the product that fried my skin in one night."
  • "I think it helped a little, but this cream completely stained my fingers."
  • "Before bed I applied a small amount of this product to one finger that's badly affected by eczema, and woke up to the most godawful smell."
  • "This product, and every other sulfur product I've used, will tarnish silver jewelry if it is in extended contact with the jewelry."
  • "Since this product contains zinc, it unfortunately tarnishes my silver jewelry."

Tint and Color

Pros:

  • "The tint helps it conceal under make up."
  • "It is also tinted a color so that it is not as obvious if that portion of your skin is exposed to the public."
  • "This product gives me a nice cover since it’s tinted and a little color to my skin."
  • "I really like this tinted cream because it covers and heals my acne and pores."
  • "The color of the cream blends in with my skin and works as a type of concealer."
  • "Obviously, everyone's skin and skin problems are different, but this worked great for me. As mentioned before, the BIGGEST thing about this product (that sets it apart) is the fact that it's TINTED."
  • "I like that it's nude colored and not white or gray so at least I dont look as weird walking around the house with big white spots on my face."

Cons:

  • "Has a tint that on fair skin makes it look orangey brown."
  • "It’s far too dark/orange for him to wear outside the house but it works to help his acne."
  • "The pigment they add for the tint is more on the reddish pink side."
  • "Unfortunately couldn't tell you if this works or not, as I'm so pale the tint made it look like I was doing blackface / brownface."
  • "The ONLY downside I can find is the fact that it's made in ONE color... it's tinted for average skin tone..so if you're paler or darker it doesn't work as well as a concealer."
  • "The only complaint is that the color is very orange and makes it look like there are bruises on my face because I’m so pale lol."
  • "If you're using it for your face the tint is not ideal cause it's more of an orange color once it oxidizes."

Scent

Pros:

  • "There is a slight sulfur smell to this paste but I consider that to be a medicinal smell."

Cons:

  • "Many hours and many washings later my hand still smells like farts."
  • "It has an unpleasant odor like a sulphur mask."
  • "If you use to much it does not rub in well and to much smells like sulfer."
  • "First off, the stuff actually stinks, because it contains colloidal sulfur. The odor's not too powerful, but you're going to notice it from time to time if you put it anywhere near your nose, so it can be annoying."
  • "It smells... bad."
  • "It does leave a dark cast wherever you put it - I tried to wear it as foundation but the smell was too much for the whole day."
